A unit with a First-Strike CC-EA kills the enemy unit in base contact with this ability. Can it still use it base cc-attack when regular attacks are rolled for? |

Agreed for three, though it does depend on whether the note is on the weapon or the unit:- Howling Banshees (and originally Rough Riders) have CC (EA+1) First Strike on their weapon, so get a single attack in the 'First Strike' round. The result is that often they kill their CC opponent so must then use their FF attack in the 'normal' round against any opponents that remain. This is another reason why Banshees are less powerfull than Warp Spiders (who get two 'First Strike' attacks because the ability is applied to the unit). |

It has to FF, and this is the prime reason I removed First Strike from the Repentia Mistress whip; if it hit and killed then the basic MW attack of the stand would be wasted. |

I understand it might be beardy to get first strike everytime, except isn't the whole concept of the assault a "swirling melee" which envelopes troops not actually in base to base anyway...? Or is this another case of the rules doing stupid things i.e. forcing consolidating troops to charge the nearest enemy unit regardless of it not being in the assault; or 90cm pulse rifles due to range stretching? |

Not quite Dobbsy. First Strike is supposed to represent the skill, speed, surprise etc of the attacker where that is exceptional. The question whether this 'ability' should be applied to the weapon or the person wielding the weapon is more debatable, and is down to the mechanics of how the designer sees things happening.

Yep. First Strike attacks are resolved completely before moving to normal combat. The second attack goes to FF if the CC target is eliminated by First Strike. |
