It's now almost a year since the first NetEA Armies Book draft documents went online. They've all had a lot of error checking since then.

I know we've had board crashes, and ERC members have been called away from Epic for one reason or another for months at a time, but surely it's now time we saw the NetEA website go live, and the online edition of the NetEA Armies Book (2011 Edition) placed on it?

That's all, really.

Yes that would be pretty awesome.
One thing I noticed last weekend - chaos greater daemon critical sill listed as sucking in all units (not just daemons) - is that intentional? Also Daemon prince has 2 EA MW?

Aye! I would like to see the NetEA book online. With armies being updated there by ERC mods and AC's the 2008 Compendium is far out of date. (I know it wasn't NetEA but it was a file/place where a large amounts of lists could be found, unlike the spread out forums here)

It will help with bringing new people into the game if there was on spot that listed everything and there status, rather than say "Here Taccoms now start digging and btw you might find some dead links or files, oh well good luck!"

Can we please have an updated list of the armies and variants that are to be included?

Personally I would like to know what is planned for Chaos and wether any of the Cult lists or the Red Corsairs are to be included.

Perhaps they need another once over as there always seems to be one error or another floating around.

BTW, who is the IT guru who'll be designing the website? Are you offering E&C? ;) :D

I would hope the cult list will be in there, especially yours. Since you put a lot of time and effort in them. Even if there not ready for the 'Approved" stamp yet.

I am trying to stay at 'arm's length' on this, however I know that if they are included, then they will get worked on and the support to have them updated will be there. If not included, well, they will remain in the stagnant position they have for years now.

You are correct however, it would be nice to know that all the work put into them would be recognised enough to be included in an experimental state at least

Just like the Marine list is finished? :P I still see problems with Vindicators and Land Raider costings. The Cult lists (and Red Corsairs) are really not that far off if they received the initial push and guidance to reach a deadline.

I am busy placing final touches on both lists that I am responsible for now. This is after comparing the power and costings to various other lists so we should not be too far off the mark :)

My post isn't in reference to yours FB, it's in reference to Angel's right before yours.

Sorry. I just fixed mine up after realising it came across a little harsh. With the bub crawling around, I was typing in a hurry. That should be fixed to how I wanted it.

By the way, Happy Father's Day Dobbsy. :D

I've lost count of the number of newbies who've come here confused as to where to find the latest lists.

It's been another year. Seriously, this just needs to be done. The netEA project is meaningless without it.

Even as someone coming back after not gaming for about a year, I wasn't sure if there were new versions of the rules and Eldar lists about.

I should have some free time from December (Christmas time) on, a few hours a week. I haven't done any website work before but am interested in learning, so if there is someone who would be willing to be the head designer, and they need a bit of a hand then I'll volunteer myself to be part of the team.

IIRC didn't Hena say he was going to set it up?

Failing that, all you need is a page, a picture, and a download link. It's not the Mona Lisa.

Rant warning, not necessarily pointed at NetEA, and certainly not at E&C, but in general:

Its not the Mona Lisa, but as far as i can tell tac-com has a very high concentration of graphic/web design students/professionals/amateurs which seems to be pretty rarely used. Given the level of skill employed in conversions and proxies, list development etc in the epic community, it is very disappointing to then download the pdfs for some lists and see a total lack of thought or competence in the documents themselves.

Not everything needs to be made to look like netepic gold obviously, but there are a fair number of 'official' lists about (from 1 group or another) which pretty much fail even at basic type composition and use of word predecessors.

Sorry if that's a rant, but with all the effort put in many of these documents deserve better. The NetEA documents are actually some of the better neat/clean documents, but this is a general point that has bugged me for a while :)

I am with Apoc on this - yet even more frustrated.

What has bugged me for a while is that you have people that want to move stuff along, yet the people that 'control the strings' are either missing for months at a time, or have no compulsion to get things happening.

People need to release the control if they are not going to be active members for moving lists forward. I know it is a volunteer exercise, yet my experience is, that if you open things up for 'people to come to the party' then you will have people take up the roles. Too often we have waited on lists to be produced or feedback to be replied to for nothing to have happened months later.

Give the roles to the people that want to do the job and will get things happening. In it's current state, we will not see the NetEA move for another 2 years. Releasing some work to 'review' is just not good enough. In a worldwide project with so many skills, surely we can get things happening before the close of this year at least.
