No as that would be fiddly, instead they get to keep the ability for the duration of the game

In which case it is the formation that is Elite rather than the unit! Good idea, I'll have to try that one out. |

Possibly something for Chromas compilation? Imagine it's be a bugger to accurately point for all the races/combinations though. |

"Experience level" will be a concept, particularly for campaigns, that will be included in the EPIC: Total War project. Since the Tournament army lists specifically state what the appropriate initiative values are for the formations they contain, I don't see the need for it as a "special rule" in standard play. |

i have to agree with chroma on this one, although i really do like the idea for a campaign setting. great ideas both ways with elite and rookie. Tim NZ (Still awaiting in baited breath for a unified World Epic rule set) |

In my experience point system I had the following effects: Ground Unit Benefits Green -Formation removes one fewer Blast marker when it rallies (minimum of 1). Experienced -No benefit Veteran -Formation may re-roll one rally roll per game Crack -Formation is considered to have an inherent Leader ability Elite -Formation is Inspiring War Engine Benefits Green -Formation removes one fewer Blast marker when it rallies (minimum of 1). Experienced -No benefit Veteran -Formation may re-roll one rally roll per game Crack -Formation is considered to have an inherent Leader ability Battle Honor -Formation gains one Battle Honor (and an additional battle honor at every 10 points thereafter up to 4 maximum, i.e. 2 at 31, 3 at 41, 4 at 51.) Flyer Benefits Green -Formation not allowed to make Jink rolls Experienced -No benefit Veteran -Formation only receives BM for exiting opposite table edge Crack -+1 modifier to activation rolls Elite -Formation can re-roll failed Jink attempts |
