Hi, here's a question that came up between French players on the epic_fr forum. It's about the Disposable rule: Some units are seen by their allies as expendable. This may be because the units are specifically created to sacrifice themselves, because the units are simply not valued, or for a number of other reasons. Disposable units do not generate Blast Markers when they are removed as casualties. This includes special effects which create Blast Markers when the Disposable unit is targeted, i.e. when hits are allocated to the unit. Unless otherwise noted, Disposable units DO count as casualties for the purposes of assault resolution (1.12.7). We're unsure about the meaning of the sentence in bold. What exactly are these "special effects which create Blast Markers when the Disposable unit is targeted"? Does it refer to the Disrupt ability? Are there any other special effects of that type? Thanks for your answer(s). ? ![]() |

Crossfire attacks also generate an extra BM, and presumably do not in this case. |

Yes what effects are concerned ? 1) BM for under fire by the enemy ? 2) Extra BM for an huge barrage ? 3) BM for Disrupt ability ? 4) Extra BM for the crossfire ? Jay who need clarifications. |

Disposable is a unit ability, so it only defends against effects that add BMs on a per-unit basis (like Hena said). Coming under fire and large barrages place the BMs on the formation independent of any targetting, hits, or allocation on a particular unit. They would affect the formation normally. Disrupt inflicts extra BMs based on the target unit and would be negated when allocated to Disposable units. Crossfire would depend on the results of the crossfire. It only places extra BMs if there are casualties. If all casualties were Disposable, the extra BM would be negated. If at least one casualty was not Disposable, it would generate its normal BM and the bonus crossfire BM. I used a generic "special effects" terminology in case some future special ability was created. === Does the language need clarification or detailed examples? |
