And now I'm herding the ERC...

We've had a year of reviews.

Pick the armylists that are ERC official, put them in a Compendium.

Tell the Champions to fix those that aren't up to snuff.

Do it.

[i]Do it[i].

Get me two dozen dedicated two-game-a-week playtesters and we're on!   :vD

If the ERC doesn't move forward on producing an 'Army Compilation' sooner rather than later, then I'm afraid it will fade into irrelevancy. Sorry.

You want me to get that to you today?

Champions have to be contacted, timezones considered, "real life" addressed.

Since it's only been a couple of days since we've been in a decent position to address this, I think we're fine... but can't just sit on our asses.

So, you're up E&C, please send me non-graphic, editable copies of the armies you're Champion of and rate them both as your personal assessments of "state of readiness" and how much testing you've had reported.  Step lively!   :agree:

Sarcasm aside, I'm quite happy to submit one of my official Championship lists right now (AMTL). The Skitarii and especially Knightworld I would submit as Experimental.

If the ERC wanted any of my other lists (Death Korps, etc.) I'd be happy to submit those too.

It's "Net "Epic RULES!" Committee".

This is what I want to hear!

And as for play testers, that's up to the one making his own list to see to. It's not mine responsibility to make whatshisname's eldargonechaosorwhatever army list working. It's his. He can ask for mine and anyone else's help, but bottom line is that it's his work.
(Which is also why I raised the question about Squat/Demiurg, one list is possible to work on, not two look-a-likes at the same time.)

Sarcasm aside,

I'm not actually being sarcastic, that's why I'm giving you a "thumbs up" and a "laugh" up there.

I'm saying, "You are right." and that I'm also asking you to put your money where you mouth is (no smilie for that).  You've cracked the whip at us, and I'm cracking back!

I'd like to see you AMTL army/armies, all three I believe, and your assessment of their "states of readiness".  Thanks!

Briefly chiming another vote and wish for a single organised Net-EA Army Book in place of the various options with Hojyns and the Handbook.

Such a thing would both give the Net-EA more credence and solve the messy conflicting and duplicative approach we have now; it confuses me sometimes - who has a lot of experience with epic and the forums - cruk knows what newcomers to the forum/game make of it all!

It should mostly be a case of collating, classifying and better presenting what is already out there and then keeping it updated anyway - easiest option might be to choose the most closest of the handbook and Hojyns project and update that rather than starting from scratch.

Actually, if your desire is to see EPIC grow/progress, it *is* your responsibilty to volunteer to help/playtest, just as it's the Army Champion's responsibility to examine and address concerns.

If there are armies you're interested in, ask the Champion what they need, or play games with the army and post the results.  The asking for volunteers to help is implicit in this whole exercise, Army Champions shouldn't be required to constanly be asking people to "please try this".

We're now working on this... but it's early morning in many places... and night in others...  and people are at work... or asleep... *laugh*

A "roll call" to the Army Champions will be going out soon.

Perhaps a new thread should be started for this "netERC armylist compilation" project, both as a statement of intent for the netERC, to rally both players and developers and since we've now gone drastically off-topic here!

I think we passed each other here...  :p

If we are not allowed to change the game, then there's neither growth or progress.
BUT I might be wrong in how I interpret "errata". Am I?

If there's an army I'm interested in I'll most certainly want to bud in. If and when I can.
And it's NOT the Army Champion's job to bug people to help. It's the individual list maker (owner).
So there's a lot of room between budding and begging.  8v)

Has this thread got you started on this? It just seems such an obvious goal I'm surprised you've not tried to do it before.

Actually, there's been a wiki page about it up for quite some time, which allowed for constant "live" updating and changes.

Putting it into a "book" has the unintended consequence of making things look "done" when they're not, which is why we've held off from putting something like that out.

We are allowed to do whatever we want, just whatever we do won't be labelled official. Therefore the sensible option seems to be to leave the core rules exactly as the are (official + official errata) and just work on the army lists, at least for now.

Army Champion = List Maker. Same thing.
