Why not just Rommel'z Mercenaries? It means the same thing anyway.

Why?  If the name is distinct, "Blood Axe Mercenary" or "Blood Axe Kommando" War Horde, each can be easily listed and shown to be different.

It would be quite possible for there to be different army lists for the "same" armies based on different conflicts, etc.  As long as the names are distinct, there shouldn't be a problem.

As these names propagate through EPICdom, the "new" ones will stick and confusion will be minimized.

When completed, this will be a document with all the army names listed in a table of contents, with introductory text and explanations, how is that going to be confusing?

It may *appear* confusing at the moment, but these are raw/draft documents for proofing, not the finished product.

*AND* this document is *NOT* a supplement, but a "wookbook", to inspire people's development of actual supplements and as a repository of lists.  It is not a "bible" but a "compendium".

So if they were called "SUMBUDDIERUVVER’S KOMMANDO WAR HORDE" and "KOLONEL ROMMELZ' MERCENARIES", you wouldn't have a problem?

They *are* both Blood Axe lists, and all you gotta decide as a tournament organizer is if you want to allow "that Ork Merc army" or "that Ork Kommando army" and you're done.  If both lists have "Ork" in them, is that going to confuse people?

Possible thought: why not rename whichever the mercenary list is Ork Freebooterz? Freebooterz have been around since Rogue Trader and were orks living outside of normal ork society that often operate as mercenaries.

I think that clear statements, written in huge bold letters, about the officialness of the NetEA rules really should be enough.

The only offical rules are those posted on the GW website.

Stuff produced by NetEA, Epic UK and the like can only be considered unoffical fan works, (until such time as GW choose to publish any of it). They're house or club rules.

Veterans who are familiar with the NetEA, or Epic-UK lists should politely ask their opponents if they'd like to use this stuff - especially if the opponent is a newb.

Players should never feel forced or overly pressured to use unnoficial stuff.

Now - I don't see how anyone can have a problem with that

I haver the strong urge to cobble together an Ork army list using all the gubbins of the current Codex Ork and that what Forgewolrd actually is shurning out....

Buti still have a lot of other stuff to do.

having 2 blood axe armies is not confusing in the least. no one said anything before and they have been around for a while. they are both great lists and should be kept the way they are.
