Walker makes big difference.

Hena, I have a serious question: how does walker make a big difference? ?Unless you have a LOT of dangerous terrain it seems like a nominal bump (unless you plan on taking it through a Wraithgate!). :D

Ruins, forest, rivers, swamps... you can drive a walker in there to get the -1 cover mod... as most weapons have a poorer AT stat, it makes for a much more survivable unit.

Pursuing infantry into ruins to root them out would be a great use for the Vindy.

Except in practice Vindicators simply don't survive in the manner you suggest.

Two AT hits == one kill == for all intents and purposes a now-useless formation (Two shots, yay).

Vindicators are horribly overpriced and need to go down to 50pts per unit. It's that simple.

Truth be told, I feel that all the Marine "support" tanks, Hunter, Vindicator, additional Predators, should be 50 points each.

The Hunter is certainly also overpriced and could do with a points drop.

I haven't playtested with Predators enough to judge their power. On paper they're slightly better than Vindicators, but not by much.

Hehe, I'm not going to bother posting more than this since nobody would be interested, but here's something I use when I'm not playing in tournaments..

Sounds fine. Annies are worth their points, which I cannot say from the other 3 Marine tanks. I am pretty sure we will never see a change, so it?s simply waste of time discussing it :). We can only tone down the new lists to let the marines win some of their games. (will also never happen when I look at TAU or NECRON list)

Let?s say it. You can only win if you do nasty tactics with Marines. Nice armies will not work because most armies are better in CC or FF than Marines will ever be, or are even completely fearless. (I think there is no need to explain the problem a engage-oriented army has with fearless armies) AND The units really good in Marine lists got more expensive.....

.....edited due too cynical apporach......

Maybe not 200 but sure 250

and Hunter with his lone shot is overprized for 75 compared to any AA tank currently in use. too few power to stop any attack and too expensive to be fielded in numbers which make a difference.

I certainly don't think that Vindicator formation should 200 points. That's too cheap.

For 200 points, I'd still take five Land Speeders any day over 4 Vindicators.

Oh cool chroma, now we will hear, 5 Speeder are overpowered ;)

just kidding :D

Have to agree with Chrom. I have two Speeder formations in my army and will not even think about exchanging them for vindis.

But this is maybe more about mobility than firepower. I will hope for luck. If I do a hit against targets in cover, it?s always a kill (no RA) Vindis even allow saves and because of this against armored infantry they are worse.

The only thing to consider would be a). Any other choice will really make no difference. I would go even further and bring the missile in line with an hellfire missile and do it AT2+/AA4+ (but not that extraordinary range)

So the launcher would simply contain skystrikes and hellstrikes....
