I'm sort of a fan of aircraft, the fewest I've ever brought was 3 formations of thunderbolts >.>, and I'd like to see my planes spend more time involved.
I'd also like some rules for the fine Forge World models for use with my IG., but that can wait.
Well... the complete re-write I did of the air rules and posted as part of the old rules review actually had aircraft spending less time on board. That was actually the major complaint. As far as I'm aware, that's the only alternate version that's ever been introduced and it might not suit your purposes.
The feedback on the mechanics were that they were as good or better than the book rules, but people really wanted their aircraft models to spend more time on the board where they could see them. C'est la vie.
