I like it. I met a guy who had a played 40k in Epic scale. He reduced all the ranges to 1/6th and played on a small magnetic case he built. It folded out to 8"x12" (a 4'x6' table at the reduced ranges). He had hills, trees and Epic buildings for terrain. It sparked my interest at least. Travel 40k might be worth the time and money investment given the $17 price tag of some 40k characters nowadays. |

Ha-cha! If I weren't so tired of casting I could one-up both of those guys and make a 3D 6mm Space Hulk. Then I would jump over a building in a single bound! |

Real nice idea, I personally liked playing Epic within the Space Crusade boards but this is even better... |

The idea has been around for quite a while. The first I heard of someone doing "travel space hulk" was ca. 1996 and it wasn't entirely new back then. Epic minis, 1/4" graph paper glued to magnet sheets, circles for the mini bases punched out of more sheet using a hole punch. Put it all in a flat tin with a few small dice. Put the pieces on the lid of the tin and either close it back up or use the tin to roll the dice in. Andy... something... I've blanked on the name. He was a regular on the old, old majordomo mailing list, way back when I went by "Tempest" and Primarch had a different name as well. None of that is to say that isn't a very well-done setup. It's definitely cool. |

Hardly "travel" Space Hulk if you have to play it on a fridge :-) |

(Otterman @ May 25 2007,21:12) QUOTE If I weren't so tired of casting I could one-up both of those guys and make a 3D 6mm Space Hulk. Hmmm, now there's an idea to file away under the 'future insane possible projects' folder... ![]() |
