I am sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am not sure if any of you guys have had this problem or not.  I recently aquired some IG assult troops (ones with jump packs).  I usually play the netepic version of epic and was just wondering is using less models on a base would be wrong to do.  Since these models do not seem that numerous these days, I want to make sure I do not run out before completing my company cards.  I was thinking about using 3 models to one of the long bases, going with one on each end and one dead center.  If you guys could let me know what you think I would appreciate it.  Thanks

I wouldn't mind - in fact, I'm doing this in some cases. 3-7 models is ok by me, and I'm happy with 8 or more for command stands and special stuff. I dream of the luxury of trying to fit 8-10 gretchin on one base. Impossible, but that's what I'd call a horde of grots. :)

I wouldn't mind either. Give the scarcity of IG assault troopers, I can certainly understand why you want to get as many stands as possible. Being a creature of habit, I'm sticking to 5 per square base.

Happy 5000th post DS.

Are the IG assault troops really that rare?  I got at least 100 of them.

A bit OT as this applies to E:A, but most of my Orks are based 7 models on a 40mm x 15mm base.  Gives them a very intimidating "horde" look.  If you are running short of Grots, look at the Baccus Fantasy Goblins.  I personally like them very much.

Back OT:  Not being a Netepic player, I'm in the dark as to whether this is covered in the rules.  If you have a particular gaming group you play with, or game store where you play, I'd ask them.  Their approval will go alot further than anything we could say here.

Thanks, Dave. ? ?I knew I was getting close, but I kind of lost track. I see I've been promoted, too.

I think IG Assault Troopers are on the rare side, since they haven't been made for a while.

Yep, since the old IG Assault Troops have been OOP, for years. I've got 3 dets of 6 stands each.  And I aways base all troops - 5 per stand.  :)

I've done lots of stuff 4 to a base on the square ones...particularly big bulky guys like Ogryns, Wraithguard, Warp Spiders and the like.  I also did my Chaos Termies 3 to a base on the strips, so I think it's perfectly acceptable these days.  I would go 4 on a square base though for classic Assault Troops.

In the NetEpic Core rules it says 3-5 figures per base for infantry stands, so it's all above board too :)
