Well following some posts on another thread, I thought that maybe we should look at some of the issues of different lists and how to combat them.

I will start things off with my feared Speed Freaks.

This is a 140 unit, 10 activation scary army.

It does however have its weaknesses. When forced to set up corner to corner almost the whole of the deployment zone is covered, unless I really squeeze together the units.

This makes the army extremely vunerable to first turn spacecraft strikes and artillery. One of the reasons that I believe the army has been successfull is that I have managed to play against armies that do not have these elements.

So any other guesses to what people are going to take and ways to beat their armies?

Tim

It's the 14 activation siege masters you really need to worry about.

Siege Masters.... Push them back in their deployment, concentrate on the fast moving elements, use clipping engagements and ignore cover weapons (Skorchas anybody :) )

Tim has not only unfortuently faced siegemasters a few times but has discussed with me the best ways of beating them. I suspect hes probably even more versed in their various weaknesses than me!

Actually if I try my best I can get 23 activations - Regimental HQ for 150 and some bunkers for 100 to hide in and 22 infantry companies for 2750. Thats 230 units - 23 autocannons and 207 hve stubbers (wow :( ).

I would suggest actually every army that can takes a spaceship both as a spoiler for air drops and to annoy the above two armies.
