(netepic @ Feb. 22 2007,12:51) QUOTE And to think - 2 inches of snow and we all get the day off in the UK... Aye - we get a fraction of what WMN has been seeing in Denmark and the UK sees more disruption than a Zombie apocalyspe would cause... ![]() |

It isn't so much the ammount of snow as the kind of snow it is. It isn't particularly cold outside and the ground was hardly frozen when the first snow fell. This means that underneath all that nice white snow is a thick layer of half melted snow causing everything to be slippery as hell ![]() ![]() |

It isn't so much the kind of snow as it is the response of the people who clear it and the morons who drive in it. ![]() I recently moved to Allentown PA and last Tuesday we got hit with a snow storm (note I did not say blizzard). Bad responses to multiple accidents combined with slow state response to the snow shut down three out of three major interstates (I-78, I-80, and I-81). On I-78 they had hundreds of people stuck in their car for over 15 hours. It was ridiculous. The only remarkable thing is nobody was seriously hurt (one diabetic managed to control his sugar by people throwing oranges to him from the underpass). But you do have a lovely home! The snow really sets off its lines. |

Huh, you would think snow would be a common enough occurrence in Pennsylvania that they would be better at reacting. That sounds like the idiot fire drill we do here in Dallas. The orange pitching was inspiring, though. |
