It's tough being a rules nutty. At least during these times. New rules are coming out at an alarming rate so looking for the elusive holy grail has never been more expensive. That's why I'm doing what any self-respecting netgoing gamer would do: I put up another meaningless poll. ![]() What would YOU get. And yes, I know it's missing Other (please explain). that's intentional. So no slipping in Aeronef or sumffink similar for you, Vanvlak. ![]() |

I voted for Victory at Sea. Nice rules, miniatures are not tied to one manufacturer and they are in a cool scale ![]() Actually I wanted to vote for you to get Aeronef. Or Starship Troopers. Or Warmaster Ancients ![]() |

I went with AT-43, since it is prepainted it wont draw on the time from other games. I was tempted by Battlefield: Evolution, but I am waiting for SST: Evolution to jump on that cart. CDIV is another set that I am waiting to arrive in the UK, but I have heard mixed reviews on it so far. |

I went with WFB cos its a very nice set (though I personally sold the whole lot bar the rulebook). However, it really needs to be painted for best effect and that is a very big job... maybe the prepainted stuff is better. |

I voted for CD1V 'cause that's the one I'll be buying, have a previous edition and quite enjoyed it, model wise it's also not tied to manufacturers. Scale wise it needs tweeked but generally does a reasonable job for 2mm to 20mm ranges. |

Never heard of any of them, except the last and wouldn't touch that one. (if they can't support Epic they get none of my money) Gary |

None of the above, I'll be getting CAV2 when it (is supposed to) release at the end of the month. Other than, B:EVO minis look like crap to me (and I'm pissed they went with the Marine, not the Army), don't particularly care for the AT-43 minis either, they look well done, just don't like 'em. The other's just don't interest me. I'll be looking at further revisions of Command Horizon. If DRM gets it's rules out this year I'll probably take a look at those as well. I'm also working on a set of starship rules. |

Of those you listed, I'm only interested in Warhammer (I'm soooo tempted to build a Dwarf army). I'm more interested in rules that don't officially exist yet: DRM and EW. |

I do have one of these, Warhammer, and if I didn't, I might have chosen it: it's still a good game, and the current package is a great deal (I bought it). Instead, I voted for Aerone - er, I mean Victory at Sea. By the way, do you own Aeronef, Mojarn, or is VSF not your style? |

It's totally down to what appeals to you. I've been tempted by Battlefield Evolution, for the same reason I got AT-43 (pre-painted minis! ![]() I've got a limited budget over the coming months, but som many armies I want to complete: FW flyers for my Epic Chaos army, new Exodus War Guild stuff like the Heavy Troops (can't remember their name) and the scout bikes; then theres a couple of additional members for my Urban War Syntha team, not to mention the additional units for AT-43... Oh, and I almost forgot Epic Chaos! ![]() Trouble is, I can't afford all of those... oh, talk about choices! ![]() |

Hmm. It seems Warhammer and AT-43 are tied. And this has been much more even fight than I thought. |

Put me down for CD4. Personally, I don't like 'massed' battles in 28mm anymore, so Warhammer's out. AT43 has some funky rules, but the minis look nice, and don't require painting. I can't comment on B:Evo, as I haven't seen it, but I'm not too impressed with starship troopers. Haven't heard of Cold War Commander, either. Hammer's Slammers is nearly a repackaged DS2, just set in a better universe. Some guys at the shop have played Victory at Sea, and were not impressed. The counters for the turn templates were single-sided, and it just didn't seem to flow right. Seekrieg is a much better system, as is one of the other who's name escapes me right now (but that game's been out of print since about 1978!) I've heard good things about CD, and I'm in a WW2 phase right now anyway. |
