I played my very first "non tournament" game of EPIC in a local campaign I am running.
4000 points of orks vs IG.
As you know, ?escalating engagement (page 141) allows you to deploy only one unit the first turn with reinforcemnts arriving the following turns (depending on their speed)
Orks had:
2 blitz
1 big blitz
2 landas
2 warbands (for the landas)
9 fightabommers
1 all mounted 'uge warband
2 big kults of speed.
IG had:
2 tank companies
1 warhound titan
1 regimental HQ unit
2 plane units
1 flakk
1 unit of vultures
1 super heavy company
1 artillery company
1 artillery battery

The battle was bloody. ? It really started on turn 2 when most of the reinforcements arrived.
A landa ground assaulted the titan completely destroying it. ?Just to be shot to pieces by the HQ formation:
casualties here and there
until...
The 'uge warband assaults 2 intermingled tank companies:
The result: ?All the tanks (but the fearless comisars) destroyed.
However, ?that formation ?could only stay there waiting for the incomming basilisk and manticore attacks. :S
with 24 blast markers (most of them from the disrupt) the formation broke.
The result: ?240 VP in favour of the IG. ?DAMNIT!!!! I would call that a tie for a 4k game.
Great game. ?Really fun. ?This is the first time that I took pictures to an EPIC battle and I wanted to share them with my many thanks to my friend TT. ?(My cam is crappy and these are the best pics I could take).
Also, ?the first time I played an escalating engagement. ?Nice for a change but I so much prefere the Tourney games.
