The next time you feel frustrated about public transportation system, take a look.

Makes me feel very ashamed of myself.
I spend tons of time complaining because all the parking meters for blocks around my work are 2 hour meters & I can't leave work every 2 hours to put money in.

I'll be the first to admit I take my car (and easy access to pick up) for granted. Oh yeah, and gas that isn't as expensive as other parts of the world.

I didn't know that so many people had horseless carriages!
Though I have to admit that I am very green with my transportation. If I can get their by walking in ubder an hour I'll walk. Otherwise I will use public transport.
Even though I can drive I find that a car isn't that useful in a big town/city. Besides the costs of keeping it maintained/taxed (not to mention fueled) are too high for someone one my salary collecting GW products

Yeah - I used to live in London - I've never even learnt to drive. Now I'm in America I absolutely need to learn to drive soon. Mind you I can't afford a car, so that's not so much of a problem!

oh yeah , thats china for you. it's not a commute, it's a circus act. i personally grew up in chicago and i thought i knew what traffic was till i went to china, had to close my eyes in the cabs. picture 10 thousand motor scooters loaded like the pics all on the same street, with a bunch of buses and taxis thrown in so folks have somthing to lean on. and the stop lights were obviously thought of as suggestions. (shudders) but to my complete surprise, i wittnest not one accident in two weeks in guang zhou. (canton to us westerners)

After 3 deployments to Central America and 2 tours on the DMZ in the ROK ... there are locals/indigs living in the countryside that are down right Primitive ! ?To put it in terms we can understand - like Feral Orks ! And let there be no doubt, if the situation presented itself and politics changed ... they'd be just as deadly in their own backyard ...
