Obviously being a returning Epic fan from the SM2 / Titan Legions era i missed the follow games (i.e. Epic 40k, E:A). I notice on the GW online store they have limited epic stuff still for sale. My stupid question is are the figures still plastic or are they lead?? I ask because for the amount of models being sold at those prices it seems a bit extortionate if they are plastic. But then i reason this may be a stupid question as its GW we're talking about!

All the infantry box sets apart from the siege masters are plastic. The rest are lead. Well from the random selection that I picked up it seems that way.

I haven't bought them yet, but I thought the Termies are metal.

Everything is lead except for the SM, IG (Valhallans), ork and eldar infantry boxes, the Feral orks and seige infantry boxes are lead, all other blisters are now lead.

IG, SM, Ork, and Eldar boxed infantry sets are plastic.
Siege IG and Feral Ork boxed infantry are metal. All blisters are metal. Vehicles are all metal.

This mind sound like another silly question, but are the minis that were released in the US lead or pewter?

Nothing is lead anymore. I thought it was all white metal but I can?t rule out pewter for sure for the US figures.

OK, that explains the prices and now i'm thinking they're not too bad.
I assume the reason vehicles are mainly sold in sets of 4 is because the formations changed for some of the later editions??
I have been able to source some of the stuff i needed for my chapter from eBay and i know i can get some other bits from people on here. I'm just looking on the GW site in the event i get really desperate for some of the figures, Terminators in particular, and i decide to spend a bit more cash to get them off there.
I have another question however. I notice they sell what is described as a Codex Astartes Battle Company which is obviously plastic. In the description it says you get tac marines and assault marines but there are devastators in the pictures so do some of those come in the pack too??

Yes they do,. There's enough to make up, quite litterally, a battle company. That is assuning that you base 5 ass marines to a stand, 1 devastator mini for every two tactical stands and 2 devastators for every devastator stand.

Thats:
5 tactical marines on a base for a tactical stand. 5 assault marines on a base for an assault stand. 4 tactical marines and 1 devastator in the centre of the base for a devastator stand.
Then 6 stands in each detachment + the command stand to make the full company?

From the description given on GW online it occurs to me that the makeup of a battle company has changed since SM2 days?? Is this the case??
I remember seeing some of the Epic 40k stuff through a GW window a year or so after i stopped playing and thinking it seemed that GW were trying to market it as a "mini" WH40k. Bases and unit sizes seemed to have changed?

Suggestion, the rules and army lists are a free download from GW/SG You should do it if for no other reason then just for the fun of looking them over.
