Hi,
It's been some time now since i've posted here and for good reason. I was on vaction for the past 6 weeks and did some traveling. When I went home to Texas, I visited some old friends and played some games. We had to go to a gaming hall because no one had the room to play so after playing and just hanging around we packed up and were heading home. On the way out I was distracted and put my cases down for a moment and then....... Someone made off with one of my cases. I felt really bad and very angry. My friends and I asked around but no one noticed anything. After walking around for a good hour, I just said F****t. Now I'm kinda over it but it still chaps my hide when someone mentions it. The only good thing I could take from this is that the case that was stolen had only my infantry stands. I got vehicles up the yang but no marines. Lesson....leave your valubles at home
Sorry if this sounds like im raving but .....

Damn Centurion, sorry to hear of your loss - you have every right to be angry! :(

I guess it could have been a lot worse and you could have lost everything, but it still really sucks!

I hope the rest of your vacation went well.

As you say though, at least you didnt loose the vehicles

Give me your address and I will send you my spare Marines to help you rebuild your decimated Chapter.

I would be angry too, let me if there's anything I can do to help out.

I have some stands of Marines too that are spare if needed... :)

Seriously, it's stuff like that which can seriously damage your faith in human nature.  I wonder if they even knew it was your minis in the case?  I bet they thought it was some expensive computer/electric equipment of some sort, and were probably disappointed that it was toy soldiers...  if so, serves them right!  Still, it doesn't get your minis back  and stop you from wanting to do violence to whoever did that.  Like the time my car got broken in to - repeatedly.  If I'd have got hold of the scallies who did that...

Centurion:  Sorry, man.  We had a terrible problem with people stealing Magic cards back when it first came out in the mid-90s.  That's definitely miserable.

Also Sorry to hear this ... but my experience with the public at large ... "forgive no one, forget nothing, don't trust anybody,  payback is a mother ..."  If I had any extras ... I'd send them to you ...

Of all the dirty, low-down, rotten things someone could do... I feel your pain, Centurion. As others have said, at least it was only infantry. If I had any spaers, I would gladly let you have them.

I too feel your pain centerion, had a similar thing happen to me in a bus station, but it was a case of 40k Eldar Aspect Warriors with customized Exarchs and Guardians... *sigh*

Fortunately, while working for GW for a couple of years I was able to rebuild my forces on the cheap.

I wish you all the best in the rebuilding of your Chapter!

Hi!

I have more than sympathy for you...

..becuase it happened to me...

I used to run mega large battles at the LGS. After one of those events, when loading into the car (going back and forth between the car and loading), someone made off with my WHOLE tryanid army and some chaos stuff.

Easily a couple of grands worth.

Needless to say I no longer do gaming events, nor play in places I dont have the utmost trust in.

It just plain sucks.

Hi,
Thanks gentlemen for the support and offers but I'll rebuild. I have a couple of detachments from side projects that I can repaint and then I can start buying. My buddies tell me that the army can be replaced but its the time and effort put into it that gets me. All those hours spent over a table.. I've already sold my bfg plastic cruisers and 40k sm vehicles to get money. I'm a die-hard epic space marine fan so those things can go. I'll see what else I have and then this spring hit GW/SG hard. Anyway, "Toll the bell a thousand times..."

Ok Centurion, but yell out if you run short.

I guess the important thing to do is look forward now.  I always think of things I would do differently after I have built an army so I guess you have the opportunity to do some of them now; whether it be different basing, colours, banners or whatever.

Chin up and good luck  :)

The Emperor has ordered a black candle to be lit in the hall of fallen heroes and the great bell of lost souls has tolled a thousand times.

If you do need infantry let me know. I, too have marines to spare as I have enough to build two chapters and then some.
