I liked much of the Firefly TV series and have been thinking about seeing this movie.

Any Epicomm members want to give a review of it?

I liked it for the most part. He uses the opportunity to tie up a lot of the loose ends from the series. Warning, it is darker then the bulk of the series.

I know many fans were thinking it would do well and more would come. It seemed to me the movie was made with the idea nothing more would come, changes in lots of things left me with a "final Chapter" feeling.

I would spend the money and go.

Hi Mark,

I also enjoyed it very much and saw it three times:

1. Once at a free fan showing... (Won a poster and CD)
2. Once with "guy" friends...
3. Once with Diana...

I enjoyed it all three times.

The movie is a lot like an expanded TV episode. As Dafrca mentioned, it ties up a lot of loose ends and gives a satisfying if surprising end.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

The movie stands by itself just fine.  I went and saw it without having seen any of Firefly.  There is a possibility of making more episodes (they didn't close the story completely), but it doesn't seem likely.

WARNING:
They kill off several important characters in the course of the movie!

Yeah, I can recommend this film, I really enjoyed it!  I hadn't really seen the Firefly tv series, but you don't feel 'lost' if that's the case, the characters and mythos/setting are very well explained.

It is a bit slow in the middle, but the end is very tense and exciting.  Also, the villain is one of the best I've seen in a movie for some time - I really hated him and wanted to see him get his come-upance - a sign of a really great baddie!
