I was trawling through the above and found these amazingly detailed 6mm figs.  Sure, they are Austrian Napoleonic Infantry and not Epic minis, but ...WoW!

http://www.displacedminiatures.com/Plagued....20Armee

Great stuff - I really like the diorama effect too.  I knew a guy who did different diorama bases for units in different formations (file, Square etc)
Far too much time on his hands...

Great pics !  ez8 did his homework ... camo, tactical paint job, etc.  L4SoTR - Easy 8 was a later version of the US M4 Sherman.  The M4A3E8, a later version used towards the end of WWII and Korea.  If you look at the L/Russes, it appears he painted teeth and eyes on the hulls of some.   Some US tankers did that during the Korean War ('50-'53).  Because it was believed that the Chinese "peasant" Army might be afraid of these "giant, noisy, metal beast" ... don't know it is worked, but we still killed thosands of them ...

Thanks for that L4 - I knew about the dragon teeth (which they copied from nay ww2 fighter jocks), but not the origin of the Easy 8 - thanks :)

Most notable improvements: HVSS suspension (as opposed to VVSS in the earlier M4s)  and a long 76mm gun; forgot exactly how many caliber lengths.  :)  In any case it was longer than the previous 76mm.

Great site, Tas! Only problem is I'm too lazy to paint minis well enough to warrant a gallery in a place like that. Then again, the others would look even better...  }:)

Personally, I recommend Photobucket for purposes of free hosting.

Hi Tas,

Great site!

I think I'll set up my own little photo album here!

Shalom,

Yes, Mojarn the suspension and bigger 76mm main gun were the most notable upgrades and are clearly seen on this version.  One of the first AFVs I built in the '70s was a Tamiya 1/32 Easy 8 ! :D

Another improvement was the addition of a muzzle brake to the Easy 8's 76mm. I'm not sure exactly when it was done, but they had them by the start of the Korean War. A VFW near where I work has a fairly well preserved Easy 8 parked out front.
