Well, the CURRENT GW universe would omit Squats and Slann (except for the latter getting a mention in Codex Necrons), and the Hrudd are a barely-mentioned aside. The Demiurg (= Squats?) crop up in BFG. The Necrons are a different race to the C'Tan, and don't forget the Kroot! Inqs can be witch, daemon or alien hunters. And you also get the Officio Assassinorum. And don't forget that other extinct race, the Jokero - also mentioned in Codex Necrons. |

Ah I see. Sorry I didn't notice that Though these are not exactly present as an army in Epic or 40k, the Imperial Navy do act as an independant organ from the Marines and Guard. They do act independantly in BFG so I guess you could consider them an army. ...Actually it'd be pretty darn cool to have a 40k or Epic battle inside a battleship...  The navy would probably consist of a whole bunch of penal troopers, servitors and perhaps Sentinel Powerlifters...Maybe Chaos could be split into Undivided and God specific Marines and also Chaos cultists? Nids... How official are the Genestealer cults? Cheers!

I have though this too. There was a great scene in one of the GG Novels - "Sabbat Matyr" I think - where a whole battle, including tanks!, took place in a Hive Tower

Well, here in the US there was an expansion for BFG called "Invasion" which dealt with boarding actions using 40K rules...about a halfway step between Kill Team and full fledged 40K...Sorta like Warbands as opposed to Skirmish or WFB...Kinda fun looking...And Mod_P over at the SG BFG forum has been looking into getting it scanned and put online... |

As I read this list, and what a list it is, I keep running into things I have never seen army lists for. Are all these really armies, or just things spoken of in fluff? Are they seperate or maybe just parts of other armies? Maksim, many of the items you said existed, I know where they came from, but as seperate armies? For example Ordinatti were a seperate army in the past? The reason I ask, is that if you wanted a list of Armies, it is one thing. If you wanted a list of items with-in armies, then that is a different list. This list feels like a mix of both. For example, Rogue Traders were in the original book, they had stats etc. but they were not their own army. I think it would be interesting to list "Armies" and maybe on another thread list items or troop types that could be brought into the armies. dafrca |
