Hi!!

Thanks to ebay I now have (or will shortly have) a new part painted IG army. I was a bit lacking in IG figures, only having the 6000 points of Valhallans nicely painted up by Tuffskull himself.

Well now I should be over the 10,000 points mark- probably qualifies me as apprentice-Primarch, 3rd class. But its a start.
:blues:
Anyway onto the toys:

The good news is that as it is part painted it should n't take me as long to get a gaming standard army on the table. Although I will need some advice from all those epic painting maestros out there.

This will give me an Epic army I can use for pick up and play small games week in week out, without worrying about scratching Tuffskull's fine paintwork on the valhallans, whcih I can keep pristine for rarer one-off larger games. I am sure Tuffskull won't mind me saying the valhallans can be seen here:

I'm off to warn my bank manager of the bad news....

:D

Cheers

James

Hi!

There's no such thing as too many tanks

This is consistent with the laws of "primarchloads".

Are you an aspiring primarch? :D

3 of my major aquisitions, all in one day :)

Lost out on a Reaver and some of the more esoteric Titan weapons, though.

As far as imperial armies go, I ALREADY am in the "primarch" class  :D

This is mainly due to one huge purchase I completed many years ago. It was $300 for the whole lot, plus $125 or so for shipping... and I ended up paying another $75 or so for customs. But it was worth every penny: a truly MASSIVE collection spanning the whole AT-E:40K range. Rulebooks, buildings, cards, counters.. and, of course, minis. Lots and lots and lots of minis.... the guy had been collecting imperial Epic armies since the beginning.

I had to overcome several hassles for that particular transaction but it has been one of the best deal I completed in six+ years of internet trades.

It's still a long way to reach this level for other armies, though. I do own pretty decent eldar and chaos armies (and chaos can grow to really big proportions by "reassigning" imperial minis... a very nice feature, this one  :) ). I can also field a not too shabby squat force.

The big "holes" in my collection are Orks and Tyranids. I could never stand the green filth, so I never collected them (I'll remedy this in the next months. Orks are nice to get on Ebay, they are almost as easy to find as the imperials but for some reason end up costing much less). And as for Tyranids, I always looked at them as "Chaos v2", what with them being a close combat army and everything. Although I do have some metal for them (one Hierodule and one Hierophant, plus a bunch of other units), and I recently got myself a pretty decent start for infantry:

So, yes, I'm an aspiring primarch. Now, if only I could convince myself to do that damn inventory...  :p

How much is "some" for the Squats? And what would you want for them?

From your friendly Squat Overlord     :)

I thought so. Without allowing for the infantry (for which there was only 14 stands and not sure how well painted they were) the tanks totalled ?166 per GW website. That would mean I paid 59% of list price, for stuff that was already pre-assembled. That seemed fairly reasonable price given that I wanted virtually all stuff.

Can't be sure of the paint job but the brown camo pattern looked all right, and the rest, as they are metal, they can easily be paint stripped.

I don't like painting Epic Infantry- my eyesight is too bad. So I want to do this IG Army as a tank heavy force, either Armageddon Steel Legion or similar. When I looked in Battlefleet Gothic Armada they showed the colour scheme for Battlefleet Armageddon and it was fairly similar.

So I thought it would be a good chance to do Epic IG army with matching BFG IN fleet.

Cheers

Plastics, Leviathons, Land Trains, Air Ships, Mega-cannons, Colossuses, and maybe a few Gyro-copters. ?I need a few odds and ends for my other armies so I'll need to get a list together.

Hi!

You need to do an inventory Magnus. A primarchload is official until its inventoried! :;):

I'm glad I finished my SM, IG, Eldar and Ork acquisitions years ago. It would be hell for me to compete with the voracious "acquiring" some of you are doing now. :D
