I'll just say one more thing on the subject. After playing through Doom3 one time, I have no interest at all in playing it again. After playing HL2, I am definitely going to be playing it again. Nuff Said.
Oh, yeah,
HALF LIFE 2 ROCKS!!!

I'm not interested in starting a flamewar about video games.
I loved HL2 from start to end, but got bored by Doom3 after the 10th monster that spawned in my back as I was grabbing a box of ammo. I find it is a cheap trick, and while it can be good once or twice, the overuse of it makes it especially aggravating.
To each his own, I guess.

I guess this is the ideal opportunity for me to say that I hate FPS. I tried, and soon got bored by, Doom 1 and HL 1. The only one I could find to my liking was System Shock, and that's just because it was anomalous.
So there

Hi!
I LOVE FPS, its the only thing I buy as far as PC games go.
The only exception being games like Civilization.

Well as far as buying PC games goes, the only ones I buy are the cheap old ones you get in PC games magazines. Apart from costing a tiny fraction of the original price, this also has the huge advantage of games working on old and really cheap hardware. All you need to do is to acquire a 3-year "disconnect" with the current state of the art, which I completed years ago
As far as games that I like... well.. FPS are last on my list. For me, it's mostly adventures, CRPGs and strategy (turn based or real time). Although once in a while I can find a fun "arcade-type" one (i.e. Crimson Skies).
