Ok, I've tried and tried, I've contacted Keith but all to no avail: I cannot either login or post on the E:A forums. The blasted software just keeps giving me some stupid ASP error on a null variable. I wrote a post to try for my idea about a last hurra for the Epic archive. If someone here with access to the forum can post it on my behalf in the general discussion... my username would be "Magnus" there too, if it worked at all... just say "I'm posting this for Magnus 'cause he cannot login" or something. Title: Any hope of a re-release of old models? Body: -------------begin post---------- Hi, I'm an old time Epic player who recently got back into the fold. I was pleased to see GW support Epic again with the Armageddon release, which promised many new models. Unfortunately, it now seems we won't be getting many of those. Right now the Epic line is hamstrung, between the unavailability of the old models (due to both GW UK and GW US shutting down the archives), and the lack of new ones (barring the Eldar range which should be released next year). This is especially bad for Chaos and Tyranids, core armies which have not seen a new release since the Titan Legions time frame (except the chaos box released at the end of the E:40k life cycle, but that hardly solved anything). I was wondering if there's any hope of seeing the old models put back in production. With fewer new minis down the pipeline, GW could certainly use the old moulds, many of which should still be available (as far as I know, the missing ones are mostly the old plastic). Failing that, maybe we could persuade GW to a one-time deal? I.e. we could combine a big order toghether, send GW a list of product codes and quantities, and GW would graciously recast the pieces one last time? I can understand the reasoning behind GW closing the archives (I imagine there were significant overhead costs between keeping the site updated, warehouse and personnel, etc.) but those wouldn' t be incurred in this one-time deal. I know I'd kill to have a shot at the Eldar Exodites, the PSI-Titan, the Dropship, the old titan and gargant weapon variants... along with more baseline pieces like Knights, Chimera variants, Tyranid infantry etc. The new pieces are for the most part better than the old ones, but they hardly cover 25% of what was available in the old SM days, and with Fanatic reorganization, the odds of seeing new models for things like the Exodites are an excellent approximation of the absolute zero. I don't have any inside contact, nor do I know anything about the production process, so I have no idea if this is even remotely feasible (maybe Jervis can chime in?). Assuming there's a glimmer of hope, would anyone be interested? Luca ---------------end post---------- |

If that was the case, Jervis could not have hypothesized about re-releasing the old models for Chaos and Tyranids. Dysartes: thanks a lot. That stupid ![]() ![]() |

Did you ever write a post there? I've got a feeling about the thing checking for some piece of data (number of posts, date of last post or something) and, finding it null, crashing miserably. I did receive a reply by Keith, though, stating he would investigate the problem. Still no luck, though ![]() |

Luca, Your post is on the official forums and Jervis replied explaining that they have a new server, which has caused some new bugs. They're being addressed. Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak. |
