Ok, so the GW US Epic archive is discontinued. Just looking at the list of very hard - impossible to find things makes my fingers itching for a way of getting copies of those items (you know, the titan weapons variants for Imperial, Chaos, Orks and Eldars, the Exodites, the Psi-Titan parts(?) and Dropship(?) which I didn't even knew existed, etc.).

I know very little about this, and was wondering if someone here has some better info on any hope of the archive coming back.

Heck, even a one-time sale could be a God-send. Maybe if we combine to place a big order they would recast the pieces? (no website management overhead, just a long list of bits and a price).... well, one can dream....  :{

Hi!

Unlikely for now Magnus. They killed the archive to "make way" for Epic A. Now with Fanatics demise we have nothing.

I'm glad Mojarn pointed out this stuff when it was available, thats how I got everything. :)

Well, as weird as this may sound, the demise of Fanatic is exactly what gives me a faint hope: with few newer models in the pipeline, maybe they will just put back in production the old ones - after all, it would cost them less than producing new moulds.

But, as far as the archive goes, I was thinking more of some sort of private arrangement. From an economic point of view, it makes sense for GW to drop it; I imagine it comes with rather high overhead costs, between the need to mantain the web site updated, the order dispatching etc. But if GW was to receive a big order, with a list of product codes and quantity requested, maybe it would green light a one-time production - they would just need to dedicate one day to fetch the moulds and cast the requested pieces. I'm not familiar with the process, but I think GW factories have some sort of small-scale casting machine used for low production runs?

Anyway, this is all daydreaming without some sort of inside contact. Maybe I could ask Jervis on the E:A webforum. Would anyone here be interested in acquiring significant quantitites of old bits? Assuming there's the smallest glimmer of hope, I think much would depend on order size - it would have to be huge to raise any interest on GW part.

I'd be very interested in getting some OOP models and parts, let me know if this idea progresses.

Hi!

The overall move from GW seems to elminate archival services.

Then again, who knows, you might get lucky and actually get some epic archive back by stirring some attention.... :;):

I confess; the only reason I'm looking forward to the Epic Chaos release is so I can convert more Silver Towers and Daemon Engines to BFG...
