One of the main problem I'm facing with my NetEpic Hardware book project is my unfamiliarity with the latest Epic incarnations, namely 40k and Armageddon. For E:A the problem is easily solved by visiting the GW online stores (at least for pictures; trying to assign a NetEpic detachment to some of the new minis is not easy, though). For Epic 40k, though, I've no suck luck. So I was wondering if there's a site somewhere where I can find pictures pertaining specifically to E:40k miniatures. Or, at the very least, a list of new models and sprues released.... did they do something for Eldar infantry, for example? And chaos? As far as I know the only new chaos models were the ones released in the box just before E:40k sinked. Are the current SM dreadnoughts the same as the E:40k ones? In short, I need a crash course.... |

Hi Magnus, these pages that used to be on my website may be of some help: http://au.geocities.com/markconz/epiccatalogue.html No pictures but they do list the entire Epic40k range, and there is a link to the yahoo epic mailing list which used to have complete pictures (not sure if it still does). Almost all the Imperial, Ork and Eldar ranges were entirely new. All the Chaos range except rhinos, predators, landraiders and infantry were old ranges re-released. All the tyranids were also just old ranges re-released. |

just a note on whirlwinds. Haven't looked to see if you added it or not but the 1st ww had a box type launcher. I have some but don't have a pic. |

Further to my previous post, if you have questions about whether a specific model had an e40k specific release, just ask, I likely know the answer. The epic40k eldar infantry sprue had guardians, farseer, warlock, hawk exarchs, harlequins, swooping hawks, warp spiders, dark reapers, striking scorpions, howling banshees. Chaos e40k infantry sprue had chaos marines, noise marines, berserkers, terminators, sorceror, commander, cultists, beastmen, flesh hounds, bloodletters, daemonettes, flamers, plaguebearers. New chaos metals were the rhino, predator and landraider. I believe the current EA SM dreads are re-released E40k era ones. |

Thanks a lot. The catalogue alone will be very useful, just by looking at the codes one can tell if new models were released for a particular piece. Now all I need to know is how many of those got a face lift for Armageddon, and how many were just re-released. Infantry, as far as I know, is still the same, except GW recast some pieces in metal (i.e. SM termies). Will try to have a look at the yahoo group, if pictures are still there my research will be almost complete except for a few bits of info on very old variants. |
