UK residents may want to pick up the latest issue of PC Gamer. It comes with a review of Dawn of War, and a demo on CD of the long awaited for Rome: Total War. DoW seems to be getting quite a lot of mainstream press. I am surprised. Still, I saw the beta of it, and it seems a little 'StarCraft' for my taste. (I love StarCraft, but there are a load of games similar.) |

Sigh, Rome:Total War is developed across the hall from where my gf works. It's a great game, but it crashes my computer when I try to uninstall the demo, which is annoying. |

Hi, I was a bit worried about DOW too, until I saw footage of a Squiggoth charging through the battlefield, and now I can't wait to get it. ![]() ![]() R:TW is looking great too. I've pre ordered it so I'll post a short review when I get hold of it. Cheers, Freshmetal |

![]() ![]() ![]() And my new hardware is STILL a couple dozen light years away... AARGHH! Well, I think I'll just get back to count the Starcraft to 40k voting no3 results, and then get the folk from all boards I frequent to hammer out the final ruling. |

Just to point out that on the GWUK news page there's a link to download a DOW demo now, although you probably all knew that. ![]() |

This is a second version of a series that we had over here in Blighty... Time Commanders. A great series getting no-hopers to play a great generals part, and see how they did. The best ones were the really bad ones. ![]() |

Hi, There's also another television programme (I think on History Channel, or one of the history/documentary channels) that uses the R:TW to show stuff called "Decisive Battles." I've no idea what times it's on, but I watched a few and they were interesting. |

Yep, Command Decisions and Decisive Battles. Last night I watched Marathon and Adrinanople, respectively. ?Decisive Battles uses the Rome:T/W graphics and the host is the actor who played CPT. Speirs in Band of Brothers. And they go to the site of the battle too. Command Decisions, along with the narrative, maps etc., they ask you questions about what course of action you would take. ?Sometimes I'm not as smart as I thought I was ! ![]() ![]() |
