Hi I am afraid I have nt been visiting for a long while. I think the last time I came ny was back in 2014 and last time I posted regularly was back in 2012. I have been ravaged by health issues over the last 5 years with 11 major operations and quite a few minor procedues. I have had cancer, kidneys fails so on dialysis, and even worse for painting and playing with 6mm figures, I have had 3 corneal graft eye transplants. Most of my Epic opponents have either ceased playing EA or moved away, which along with the health suff, did nt help my painting motivation. However having had my last operation a couple of days before Christmas I enter the New Year with, for a change, no operations imminent or currently due. I have one friend just under an hour away that wamts to resume playing Epic, and a couple of players at local club who used to play during the initial EA playtesting who seem as if they fancy getting back into playing. I did nt go so far as to set any Gaming New Years Resolutions, but playing and painting Epic is definifely one of my intentions for this New Year. So I need to firstly work out what has been happening with the latest Net EA Turnament Pack and the Army Lists therein (it's ok - I have the link), and also on Epic UK lists which my friend favours (ah=gain I have the link). I just need a bit of reading to catch up. In particular where you guys got to, and why, with AMTL and OGBM lists. Cheers James aka wargame insomniac |

Welcome back! For AMTL at least it's probably not much changed from when you last saw it. There have been a few tweaks to weapons and some point adjustments but that's about it. Currently testing removing the corvus restriction for Skitarii and reducing the cost of the Warlord and Reaver a touch. |

Thanks Mark As I have continued moving away from GW games after release of Age of Sigmar, my limited gaming time has been either more board games or for figure gaming moving to Hail Caesar and Black Powder. The explosion of 28mm hard plastics has made collecting historicals far cheaper and so the one army I have been able to make limited progress on is French Napoleonic, especially with Perry Minis but some Victrix also. Your Napoleonic blog is one of the ones that I have followed and always enjoy your excellently painted units. So thanks for inspiration for keeping even my limited progress going. |

Cheers James, glad you like it, I've just added a post reviewing the last years painting, plus some thoughts on how to get such painting done. Might be an idea or two of use in there. http://chasseuracheval.blogspot.co.nz/2 ... ughts.html Agreed the 28mm hard plastics are boon to the budget, wouldn't have done it otherwise in my case. |

Mate it sounds like you have been through a tough time. Good news that everything is stabilising though. We now have three regular gamers in Harrogate and meet up at mine on a Friday night. You are free to join us or else we'll have to arrange another time over the weekend for a meet up and game. Tim |

Tim Thanks Tim. I can't do Friday nights due to dialysis but weekends are an option when I get myself sorted. Do I know any of the other 3 players? Am I right in thinking Ben moved up to Harrogate? It's a shame that Russ and Frenchie drifted away from Epic. They were just using what Epic figures they had and I think they were n't a fan of more competition style games. I still see them regularly but tend to more relaxed games, as much an excuse to chat and drink coffee, which suits me fine. Cheers James |
