Post subject:  Jervis parting with GW? Hopefully just a rumour!
Topic title pretty much says it all.
I read on another forum that Jervis and GW has decided to part ways. Apparently it should be on p. 6 of White Dwarf (UK issue). I haven't read the issue myself yet but I hope someone here are able to confirm or dismiss this rumour or at least tell me that I've misunderstood something.

If it is indeed true then it is a sad day for the hobby. First Andy Chambers then JJ. GW is really losing it's soul with the loss of these guys who started it all! Please PLEASE tell me that this is not true.

I doubt it, but then what if he did?

To tell the truth, nothing would please me more than Jervis leaving, hooking up with Andy and forming their own company..

..away from GW's influence...

...that would be something worthy of support.

Thanks for sorting this out. I was getting all nervous for a while there. The guys on that site really should learn how to read then. }:)  (funny since i think it was 4 or 5 people who kept caliming that it was indeed Jervis and not Andy -which isn't exactly news anymore)

Yup, I just went and got my WD copy. I nearly had a heart attack when I read the title, as Jervis is keeping Eic alive!

I don't think so...

Unless something drastic happened, Jervis had TONS of plans when I saw him earlier this year.

He's currently on vacation.

And a gaming company where AC and JJ would not have to think marketing first would certainly be something, although very unlikely to ever happen.

Anybody remember the GW which encouraged people to use proxies and scratch-built vehicles? Granted, it was back when GW didn't make any vehicles aside from Rhinos and Land Raiders. But still...

I remember that... (well you would Jimbo, you are old!!!!)

having said that when the vehicle design rules came out (a few years back) they did remind people of that wonderful scratch built grav tank made from a deodorant...

They may be distantly related Mojarn, but it is a big galaxy! :D :;): ?

And I too remember those days when they mentioned proxy vehicles! Too! (I am so old !) :{ ?

(I also remember Jervis saying in many cases, to use your own version(s) of rules that work for you! :;): ) ?

There are a number 6mm Scifi minis out there that would work just fine, in many cases... :D

Glad to hear that was just a misunderstanding...
Jervis is a great bloke for all he has done for Epic and all the other Fanatic games over the last few years and it would be very sad to see him go imo...

I made one of them!!! From an old spoon, roll-on deodorant tube and sundry other pieces.

I made a Spartan Land Raider conversion as well, from around the same WD issue.

OMG, feeling my age now.....

I made Epic Spartans too, back then !  They are in the motor pool with the rest of my Rhinos and Raiders from SM1 on ! :D
