Well, since I've come to the conclusion that one or more of you are wise in the ways of fighting machines, I'd like to humbly request some help in getting 'into' them. Everyone has their thing; I've always liked tanks and aircraft, far more so than cars, bikes, ?- only dinosaurs equated in my mind when I was between 4-9 years old. ?
Having then expanded my knowledge to cover everything saurian up to about four years ago, I came to the sad conclusion that no flying dinosaurs with armoured plating ever took part in WW2. ?
So anyhow, I'm asking for guidance on resources to learn about AFVs through time. I could just buckle down and browse through the large bookstores around here, but I'm lazy, and far too involved in other things to go browsing for the next little while. So any suggestions for books to pick up, websites to read, or even discourses done by yourselves to peruse? Something preferabbly interesting - I don't want to get bogged down in details of the weight and construction materials of rivets over the course of eighty years, for instance.
All this was fueled further by me checking out the GHQ site and the combat command stuff. WOW!!!! If I could convince anyone other than my good buddy's dad to game modern or WW2 with me, I'd be all over it like... hobbits over a meal, or Primarch over rare Epic goodness.
Off I go now to find a pair of philosophers who I can compare over the possibility of a just war...
