Tape Measures, cheese sticks, cloth tape ruler, laser range finder   Just curious. I use a cloth tape measure. Some people in our groups use metal tape measures. For LOS issues, I have one of those eye safe key chain laser pointers, for which I have made an attachment which places a mirror at 45degrees at the buisness end. As punishment I will reduce my epic purchases by 5% this year. Mmmm..maybe 2%....mmm...maybe not. I'm hopeless. and that kind of "cheesey" behaviour is exactly why "guessing" is flawed and in my games I always allow pre-measuring.

I agree with you Jimbo. I wonder though, if this engenders so many problems, As I have seen many times through the years, why isn't pre-measuring a less used mechanic in games? Is it really worth the grief to include? Why have it at all?

I have the belief the the game is improved when you take out points of contention. Measuring has caused untold arguments in my experience and pre-measurements seems to reduce that. Go figure.
