They try to distract you by emphasizing that production was outsourced to Egypt (other articles do so more than this one, actually), but that’s just wishful thinking. I’m in the building industry and the norm for fancy stonework is to design here and have the labor done abroad.
Anyway, a city on Ohio commissioned a Korean War memorial and the company they contracted outsourced the design to a company in Georgia. They came up with this, and no one on the city’s committee noticed that most of the images from the wrong wars. The large images of the helicopter and battleship appear to be correct, but they’re hardly the first thing you think of when someone mentions the Korean War. Especially not the battleship.
