So, I dont know if people are aware, but there is this thing called Twitter. I dont think it will ever take off - for a start, everyone knows that the past tense of 'tweet' is 'twat'. But, I have set up three accounts, a personal one (@CyberSammael), one for this site (@TacWarNet) and one for the Specialist Arms website (@SpecArms). Currently, only my personal one gets any traffic at all.

Aside from Exodus Wars, who else should I be following out there. Also, you are welcome to follow me, but I am likely to talk far more about Transformers and yoyos.... And my breakfast!... Than wargames right now, but the odd tweet may sneak through.

Suggestions on who to cyber-stalk are welcomed.
Thanks.

Not into twitter myself but heard from 2 friends yesterday that George Takai from Star Trek and the guy who played Wesley Crusher in TNG have cool tweets.

@patbrry is a fine upstanding citizen.

also, for more marketing type of approach, targetpattern is a really good app.

I joined Twitter and I still don't understand the principal of it or how it functions! LOL

100% this!

I consider myself fairly web/new media savvy and I just don't get it at all. Seems to me you need to constantly watch it to catch anything or it gets lost in the background noise. Frappuccino snorting media luvvies don't seem to be able to get enough though!!

*Puts down his frappuccino and snorts*

Got to admit, I am largely the same. Its like Facebook.... except you only have your status line.... and you cant type more than 140 characters.... So, not quite as good as Facebook, then?

As a rule, I am extremely anti-social media. The world seems to be inventing more and more ways of people I dont care about telling me more about what they had for breakfast. Who ever thought that their lives were so fascinating that they had to tell the entire world the most dull aspects of their day?

That said, its a far more immediate communication than Facebook. I can actually hold a conversation on Twitter in real time, and anyone can jump in. Its not something that I am giving up the real world for, but I thought that I would give it a fair shot and see what everyone is shouting about.

Fair play for giving it a go - I'll admit I have very skewed view of it due to having to deal with the aforementioned new media types at work from time to time...

:D :D
I have a facebook account, but I rarely post anything on it. I'm with you CS, I don't care what someone had for breakfast. As for twitter, I have absolutely no interest.

I have a twitter account, but never use it. Facebook is good enough for me. Though that's still not as good as actually talking to my friends face to face.

Sigh. I deleted my Facebook account after I got fed up with changes to the format I had (or seemed to have) little control over. And I have a Twitter account which a full four people followed (wow!), and I can't even remember what I called it.... I seem to be a social dinosaur.

You can find some interesting porn on there, or, uh, so I've heard.

I'm pretty sure that apart from Exodus Wars, Stephen Fry is the only other person on the internet worth following chap :D.

I have not seen, nor do I want to see, Twitter-porn! The mind, it boggles! :D

Ah yes, both Fry and Laurie are being followed already. I have found that a lot of 'celebrities' that I would happily watch have very boring Twitter posts.
