Hi all **waves*

First proper post from me, after a long while lurking. How do people store their epic models? Ive got a range of stuff from standard infantry stands through tanks and super heavies to titans including an imperator and havent been able to find the ideal way of storing them yet - they're still on parade on my desk lol.

What do other people use?

I second that foam in a softcase/hardcase is the best way of storing and transporting if the budget is there!

Personally, I magnetized all my bases and if you don't turn your box upside down the figures are save :)

Ha! This will appall many people on here... I use shoe boxes for my biggest forces (Marines, Eldar & Orks) and 3 clear plastic boxes (like you get for food deliveries) for each of my other 3 forces (IG, Squats, Chaos). Whichever boxes they are in, they are broken down into companies / other units by being stored in cash bags for change that the banks give you!
Doing this helps when you are picking forces, you can always find your stuff to hand quickly.

I've got some small dollar store cases that are a good size for a 3000 point army. Larger armies get larger boxes (or additional supplementary small boxes). I add some foam into those to keep things from shaking around. I then have a large metal briefcase that I carry stuff to games in.

For simple cheap storage and easy stackability i use old video cassette boxes. I have loads of these as i have replaced my old video collection with disc's over time. Dumped the video kept the box. You can replace the film cover with your own contents label also, saves opening boxes to find out whats inside.

You just need to be careful opening to box or you end up with models flying everywhere.

A box can usually take a full formation easy which helps keep everyone together. Obviously this idea is no good for transporting armies, but it does just fine for storing on shelves or in cupboards.

+1 KR. Did a lot of experimenting with other stuff, including magnetizing, but the KR foam is the best bang per buck i found so far. Very friendly people too. I like having one solution to all minis. Not one for plastic infantry, one for tanks, and a third for WEs since it looks messy :geek, and with the right combinations that's doable.

Think I'm going to go with KR foam and a flight case or two. Looks like the most flexible option. Next step is to get on with painting the stuff :P

Another happy KR user here. I have a layout similar to Nitpick with a pair of trays for tanks and inf followed by a 'pick and pluck' tray for for warengines and bizarrely shaped vehicles. I've got two of the card cases and find them robust enough for general use and travel.
