I'm looking for some extremely small scale chain. The chain on the Forge World site looks to have chain links of roughly 1mm in size, but I'm looking for some chain with around 0.5mm links and also some with around 0.25mm links. Anyone know of places that sell this?

I've been trying to find some on Google but not having much luck, I keep getting results for that thick wire not that diameter of loop.

One option is to have a look at Jewellery suppliers, someone like these:

http://www.palmermetals.co.uk/shop/loose-chain.html

UK based, but I am sure there are similar places wherever you are.
Though I am not sure how small they go down to.
Sometimes bits for jewellery making are called "findings", could use that word in your search.

Other than that you can look at scale model boats, something like these:

42 Links Per Inch Chainl

0.5mm Chain

Both items are sold out in this shop, but you can search around under scale model boat supplies.

You want to be looking for high number of links per inch to give you small link size. You might get better results by searching for links per inch rather than link size.

Hope that helps.

Matt

Some more 42 link here:

And some even smaller, 52 and 72 link per inch stuff here:

Although at that scale I think they are etched brass lengths that are made to look like chain, doubt you could make actual chain links that small.
