Strictly speaking, it started out as a prequel to ALIEN (singular), and looks very much to have the DNA of that film—so don't expect Colonial Marines, Drop Ships, APCs and Alien Queens.  What it does seem to have in spades is moar of the Awesomeness that ALIEN brought to the party—anxiety, paranoia and OHMYGAWDWHATISTHATness.

Yes. Alien, sans the "S". I knew the difference, just got lazy I suppose. I am starting to look forward to seeing this. More trailers will make up my mind. |

Anything in the aliens franchise i have a love for and am very much interested in. Aliens vs pred are meh but entertaining. |

Yeah- Aliens was a good fun action movie, perfect popcorn fodder. Alien has such a different style and great deal of sublety and suspense. Maybe if we all concentrate, we can pretend that Aliens 3 & 4 were never released.....  James |

Absolutely. In fact I wish that they would release a third Alien movie.... and a Alien and Predator crossover while we are on the subject!! |
