Post subject:  The Travails of Marriage

I'm happily married and love it. However, it entails living with another person who does not always share everything they are thinking, and that sometimes results in very odd surprises. This is one of those suprises.

First, a necessary digression. Several months ago my grandmother passed. Grandma was a very arts-and-crafts kind of person. Among the many things she'd made was a needlepoint Christmas village. It's a set of buildings made from needlepoint panels, with a music box inside each one. Each plays a different tune.

This weekend, my wife asked me if I would clean up the table I use for gaming. I did so without really thinking about it.

Upon returning from running errands, I find that my gaming table is now inhabited by a needlepoint Christmas village. :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ Obviously, removing said village is absolutely out of the question.

I'm REALLY tempted to get out the 40K or WHFB minis and play a skirmish game using the houses for terrain.

Or, alternately, I may start slowly adding miniatures to the scene and see how long it takes her to notice the Norman Rockwell scene has been invaded by space-elves.

Hah!

Do you have any of the old Imperial Guard casualty figures? Slowly adding them to the scene would be fun. Otherwise I'd go with the second option. It's what I'd do in the situation, anyway.

That's too funny, Neal.

I would go with the second option and see how long it takes for your wife to notice the difference.

I wouldn't even do it slowly. I would stay up late or wake up early and have that whole village in smoldering ruins. Maybe even getting some cotton 'smoke' to come off some of the buildings or a T-Hawk landing next to a Christmas tree with little Space Marines repelling on it.

Your wife's devilish ploy should not go unpunished.

I think you need to add "Subduer of Needlepoint" to your list of titles Mosc.

The reindeer on the right is out of coherency so couldn't assault the penguins in that manner. I bet that player will learn not to intermingle his penguins and DC6 sleighs again

Oh come on that's totally a token assault with somebody not playing the 2008 amended assault rules!
