An interesting way to get up to speed on the fluff...

http://twitter.com/#!/RealTimeWWII

"Hamley's have their latest toy in the window- 'Build Your Own Maginot Line'."

"The Indian Congress Party has just passed a motion condemning British imperialism & declining themselves neutral in the war."

(is it fluff if it's real?)

That's a fascinating idea. Really cool. I assume that all reports are historically accurate, and that this is from the US perspective?

That's a relief. I had a horrible moment of worry at first, after mis-reading the title as referring to world war III starting and being tweeted about...

I can't see any reference to source material, which is annoying.

DAMN

Someone got there first!

My grandmother passed away at the beginning of the year, and in the sorting of everything, I discovered a large box of letters from my Grandfather (Sadly long gone himself) to both her & other members of the family, a letter a week for most of the 2nd world war.

They're fascinating and many really very humerous too!

I intend to start blogging them in "realtime" at some point next year, when things have calmed down on the family front as an interesting insight into the life of a soldier in Burma. Didn't think it had ever been done before, but I've been pipped to the post it seems - thanks for posting it though, I'll be interested to keep watch on this one :D

Stephen Jackson posts a daily chronology -- mainly ship focused, in the consimworld/steel wolves discussion page:
