Normally I paint in silence. A recent discussion on a Khorne fan site had me thinking that maybe I should try it. It then had me wondering what other people do. So what do you listen to when you paint? Does it change depending on what you are painting? From the site above, most of the music was heavy and angry - very in line with what you would expect from Khorne: Slayer's "Bloodlines" (God Hates Us All mix) Kill Main Burn -Debauchery Megadeath "Killing is my business..... and bussiness is good!" Nile's 'Die Rache Krieg Lied Der Assyriche' Hallows Eve ...."Lethal Tendancies" two World Eater songs from Bolt Thrower. The first is "Blood for the Blood God" the second is "Skulls for the Skull Thrown. Morbid Angel song "Hatework" Korn "Coming Undone" 3 Inches of Blood-Deadly Sinners 3Inches of Blood-Axes of Evil Disturbed-Down with the Sickness Satyricon's - Now, Diabolical Disturbed-Warrior So, does everyone paint in silence like me or do we have a selection of music that Taccom-ers listen to in those hours? |

I'll put on anything I fancy listening to if I'm going to listen to music, could be anything but mostly jazz/blues type stuff. I have eclectic tastes! Mostly though I'll have on a war movie or documentary and paint to that. |

"Megadeath "Killing is my business..... and bussiness is good!" Korn "Coming Undone" 3 Inches of Blood-Deadly Sinners Disturbed-Down with the Sickness" Good choice! They are certainly on my Last.FM loved tracks list ![]() I listen to a lot of Ghost Train (http://www.last.fm/music/GHOST+TRAIN+UK), but the easiest way to show my musical tastes for painting is via the medium of Last.FM's 'paste your taste' mode. "I'm into rock, metal, heavy metal, hard rock and thrash metal, including: Metallica, Megadeth, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Dio, Rob Zombie, Disturbed, GHOST TRAIN UK, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Hole, The Distillers, The Offspring, Thin Lizzy, Icon of Coil, Lordi, Stick It Out, Crash Alley, Billy Idol, Rancid, Black Sabbath, System of a Down, AFI, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, Papa Roach, Space, Bad Religion, Misfits, Adema, P.O.D., Mötley Crüe, Testament, Auf der Maur, NOFX, Van Halen, The Dandy Warhols. Hmm, it's a toss up between old TV drama and comedies: - Last of the Summer Wine - Are you being Served? - Brittas Empire - Cadfael - Poirot - Sherlock Holmes (Jeremy Brett one) Or some relaxing Drum & Bass: - LTJ Bukem - Blame - Logistics - Cyantific - Blu Mar Ten - Nookie |

The local hobby store also has a lot of children's toys, so the owner plays non-offensive "world music" - at least it's "non-offensive" to children and their parents, but it's certainly offensive to the ears. So, painting night is full of that stuff. When the odd Neal Diamond song comes on, it's at the top of the listen-ability scale, to give you an idea ![]() ![]() |

Blues mostly, some jazz, & a little NPR for regular paintwork. Oddly, airbrushing always has me going to higher energy stuff like Foo Fighters, Ludacris, Vandals, etc. |

Notable favorites include It's a Happy Song, Jumbalee, and the one about building a house with a saw... Every once in awhile we'll hear some Marley or a Dylan cover, but rarely more than once a day. ![]() |

I never paint in silence. I mostly listen to rock, but sometimes I'll put on some Wagner. Listening to Queensryche's album Empire reminds me of painting Warhounds, because I listened to it a lot when it I painted my Warhounds in the early '90s. |

Sheesh, I thought it'd be hard to bowdlerize "Johnny I hardly knew ye" any further... but they did. |

I don't listen to music while painting unless it's something I have to perform or record. I usually paint in silence or pop a well-worn movie in the player just to track time (and maybe take a break from painting for my favorite scenes). |
