I like the priorities in that question. wargamers may be thin on the ground. computer gaming, especially online are hugely popular here. I've been walking past an internet cafe at 5.30 am, the shutters rolling up and there were three guys already online (they'd been locked there overnight). I am still planning on converting a few nerdy friends i've made, but sourcing models is a pain. foodwise (next most important). Cambodia is to Vietnam or Thailand like Germany is to France or the UK. Broadly similar, decidely different in the detail. They also don't use chopsticks, preffering knives, spoons and forks. Cambodians don't like the Vietnamese much (see them as opportunistic. The Vietnamese look down on them as barbaric. They used to try that on the Thai's as well, but money talks.) Everybody hates China. And I mean REALLY hates. |

My girlfriend grew up there, spent some time in a Khmer Rouge camp, then escaped to Thailand. She's been back a time or two. I'll see if she knows anyone left behind. |

on the wargaming side, if it's anything like vietnam you can get pickup games of chess and chinese chess almost anywhere. just take a case, open it, and sit at a cafe table for a few minutes. you'll like chinese chess, it's harder and includes artillery. |
