So the talk over on another thread about board games made me wonder, what was your first War Game?

Me, I started out with Panzer Blitz and Feudal. Branched out to other AH WWII games, then I found Ogre. SciFi became my favorite genre.  :cool:

I think I ?played Bloodbowl and Classic battletech even before I knew what wargaming was.

oh does sending little green army men and GI joe figures to their untimely end using BB guns, gasoline, and cats count.

Heroquest and Space Crusade, closely followed by Space Hulk and Dark Future.

That is unless you count Subbuteo as a War Game. :laugh:

Heroquest then a ?short while after Space Crusade(those TV adds had no effect on me what so ever!:;):). Followed buy Space Marine.
And get this, I used to buy all my toy soldiers in Virgin Megastore of all places!!

I'm pretty sure that my first true miniatures war game was Star Fleet Battles in 1977. I'm not sure though... I played Chainmail around that time too...

And plenty of other board games as well...

*** Does Stratego count? ***

My memories are all mixed up on this.

I loved the games that came out in the 1980s... Car Wars, OGRE and so many others...

I remember role-playing the original Robotech books as well... GREAT FUN! :D

My first was AH's Luftwaffe, which was a little too complex when I bought it when I was about 11. I then bought some of the less complex AH games like Afrika Korps, Gettysburg and Kriegspiel. I started playing Risk about this time, too.

My first game with minis was Adeptus Titanicus which my best friend gave to me as a birthday gift shortly after it was first released. So i guees you could say that it's all his fault I became an epic addict! ?:p

Well, in the strickest sense, Chess and Stratego are War Games, so Yes they do.

However, if they did not pull you into this hobby, I would say tell us not your first, but the game that started you down the path to Darkness, um, I mean becoming a War Gamer.  :cool:

Good point, all my first war games were all board games, but then I bought Rogue Trader and that pulled me into the GW web.  :O
