Just wondering of CS had managed any planning for the meet-up, seeing as I booked the SGC about a month ago.

Dysartes - do you mean that booked the SGC for us, or for your Bank Holiday Monday thing?

Sorry that I have not followed this up, but it is proving difficult for me to find a weekend that I can commit to in advance. I like the idea, but I am also not sure how much actual interest there is for this.

If we went ahead with this, in Sheffield... who would actually turn up?

Sheffield's easy enough for me to get to, but it very much depends on whether i've enough warning to make sure my shifts/moving house/gig i've been looking forward to for months/whatever don't clash.

CS> I booked it for Sat 1st October (IIRC) as a preliminary thing - I remember PMing you the date, if you still have said message.

Catering can be arraged, which would cost ?4/head as it currently stands. This would need to be confirmed, along with a general idea on numbers. Numbers shouldn't be a problem for the SGC, as they have tables which can cater for 38 players at the minute, though they're a bit low on Epic scenery. If we didn;t want to get it catered, we have Meadowhall less than 5 minutes walk away, with its variety of food outlets.

If we do run something, I can probably get 1 guy from London up (General_Ng from the E:A development board), along with somewhere between 4 and 10 local Epic players (some of which are learning) including myself, billthebobder and dptdexys from the E:A board.

One suggestion that has been put around for an Epic event would be a mass playtest day - half the people fetch published lists, and the other half fetch Vault lists. We then run 3 or 4 games over the day (as SGC is open 10am till 10pm) with the Vault lists taking on various published lists in a semi-tournament environment. Not only would this give some good games, but we'd also get some valuable playtest data in.

Hi

July-Sep are always hectic for me at work. However by Sat 1st Oct things should have calmed down. Please stick me down as a possible and definitely drop me an e-mail nearer the time when you want to firm up on numbers.

The 50:50 Playtest:Vault lists sounds cool as well.

Cheers

James

Providing I have earned enough ?s to justify it by then, count me in...  :;):

Although my rules knowledge of E:A is distinctly sketchy at the moment, so I could do with some warmups!

PitFiend> Yup, that's Bill alright. Currently seems to be using OGBM as an opponent to Eldar to teach someone how to play.....
