Post subject: | WHFB Chrace themed army list |
Hello all, Well, the post that we discussed fluff vs rules modifications has decided me to show you a sketch of what I am planning to do with my chrace list (region of ulthuan, the high elf island in WHFB). So far I have used proxies to test it, but I am starting to feel confident about the list, and since the modelling and painting possibilities are endless I have decided to go ahead. I suck at converting / painting so far, but I like this so much that I will try it ![]() Anyway, I wanted to present you with the version 3.0 of my Chrace themed list. It is by far NOT the most efficient list I have ever made and it is still under heavy play testing. Version 1.0-1.5 and 2.0-2.4 have proven even LESS effective than I thought. I haven?t had time to prove this last version yet, but the feeling is better when it comes to battlefield performance, even if the fluff part has goten a little bit damaged as a consequence ![]() 1) Under each unit there is some smallish fluff. 2) All the names of the units are in Quenya, even if I haven?t look very strongly to the correct forms of it. 3) After that, a small summary puts up the list and the deployment. 4) List is 1500 points 5) Tactic to be used is a hammer and anvil tactic. Quite tricky with HE but I have he feeling it can work in this case. Here it comes ![]() SMALL FLUFF SUMMARY Aldarori?r (masters of the woods, foresters) Those dudes are basically Chrace foresters. The have a high connection with their realm, more than even elven mages. They are PART of Chrace and with a high level of communion with their land. This makes them able to MOUNT white lions instead of hunting them down. They are scarce as well, and usually travel in pairs, a master forester and its apprentice, even if sometimes the master forester has more than one apprentice if he is experienced enough. There are less than a hundred of them at any given time in Chrace and they usually act on their own, eve if sometimes they appear to help a settlement against the enemy. Someone said Jedi? Yup, I thought about that after writing their fluff as well ![]() Curewntly 2 Aldarori?r dwell in the region, Silwingon Aldaror? mounting his powerful companion R?f?na and his apprentice, Nimgon Aldaro?. It is known that Nimgon mounts a white lion as well, having passed his Test of the Lion, the ultimate test an aldaror? must met to be chosen into the role of apprentice, but so far the name of the powerful beast has remained a mystery. Nimgon is scarcely seen and his comanion is even more secretive GAMING STATS: Nimgon is a Hero on R?f?na the Lion (eagle, mane means white lion, LOL, I am this original, you know ![]() Forces of Opel? Nimlass? (Town of the White Leaf) This is the settlement I use for the rest of the forces. Located in an important valley used to access the inner lands of Avelorn. Opele Nimlass? does NOT dwell directly in the route, but is a fortified and used as a strong point to gather forces and send them to intercept incoming enemies. Has been under siefge several times, but thanks to reinforcements arriving from other locations it has never fell to the enemy, even if it has been close to that end. Mablung and Elanna (The one Of the Heavy Hand and Star Gift respectively) The characters. Mablung is the military leader of the settlement, an experienced white lion hero. Elanna is the front line representative of the Council of Notables of Opele Nimlass?. She has a fairly high grasp of tactics, eve if she is not the leader Mablung is. Sometimes she disputes his tactics and her seer abilities have allowed her to see the enemy movements and chosen strategies that Mablung had disregarded as the best ones. She has had some successes but she is not as cunning and the more grizzled veteran. Mablung somehow resents the intrusiveness of the council in the military matters that are his field but he can do nothing to prevent that from happening since the military is under nominal (and real) control of the civil council. Arqueen Na?Card?Maltarusco (Nobles of the House of the Golden Fox) Those nobles from a nearby noble house have helped the settlement for centuries. Its master has a seat in the Council of Notables of Opel? Nimlass?. They ride Chrace steeds, a little bit heavier than their companions from other regions like Ellyrion, but they are surefooted against forest and mountainous terrain, a factor that gives them a top notch gras for the chracian terrain. (Banner of ellyrion). Thinds?l (Sparkling wind IIRC), the oldest son of the House, leads them in battle. Angehtyar (Iron Spears) One of the veteran units of Opele Nimlass?. They form the permanent semi-rofessional detachment of the town when it comes to military units. Other units like the Pilindiloss? (White Arrows) or the Narmi Sindar (Grey Wolves) can be called when needed but the Angehtyar form the core of the citizen levy of the town and are proud of it. Their leader is Gilraen (something like star fire, IIRC) that is the veteran in charge of the instruction of new recruits as well. Henoronti (Eyes of the mountains) Chrace is a wild land and so the scouting units of the area are heavily armed for exploration units. There was a time when they were constantly ambushed by Druchii, not to talk about the even more dangerous predators of Chrace. They are suited for breaking though an ambush more than to prevent the engagement and so are armed in concordance. In battle they tend to back the more heavily armed nobles of the region or protect one of the flanks of the line of battle. GAMING TERMS: SH with a 4+ save Tirinand? ( Shadow Warriors. Scouts of Chrace, quite hended. Sep an eye on the valley that Opele Nimlass? is in. Lynienwa R?ohtar (Old Lion Warriors) Note that the ?old? refers to Quenya and so has no connotations of weakness since elves in middle earth are immortal. The term means more experienced/wise/verteran. A permanent detachment of WL assigned to the settlement. Lead by Iarendris (the old of the cleave or the Old Cleaver), the second in command of Mablung. Thrar and Soronar Great Eagles. After all that rant, THE LIST ![]() - Hero (Silwingon Aldaror? + R?f?na) Great eagle, reaver bow, lance, heavy armour and enchanted shield - Hero (Mablung) WL honor.
