You can see some of the photographs I took at the Games Workshop event, Bristol Conflict 2003, alas no Epic or BFG (there was very little new stuff to be seen (all in the USA I was told) and what was had been seen before) so just a few pictures of games and armies I liked. |

the Ork Battlefortress from Forgeworld looks a lot better in "real" life than it does on the FW website. I really like it now (and am looking forward to the Epic versions) |

I am looking forward to the epic version too. At first I did have to check to see if there were any similarities to the current epic fortresses but alas no. Still, never mind, means there is more to come later for epic ![]() |

I have always found it interesting how the 40k crowd loves large scale games, but resist Epic. Guess it is hard to give up those "named" heros. I saw one site that had more then 100,000 points per side in WH40k. Made was it impressive. dafrca |

hmmm you have a point there but I know what Dafrca means with people who love 40k because of individuality and 'Heros'. I am one of them. I do like the Heros that help turn the tide of the game in desperate situations. I also like they way they stand out among the other figures. I thats thats the reason why I liked the Tau so much for Epic, a sense individuality was present because of the different poses and how you were able to ensure your stands had a little difference. In Epic40k the variances started with different IG which looked smarter but not quite the same effect as the Tau. hmmmm I'm rambling.... |

The difference in scale and rules clearly polarizes the 40K vs. Epic gamers. I always thought it was ridiculous to have a 3 foot Titan on the board !!! ?The more Jervis tries to make Epic like 40K in respect to rules, the worse it will get. ?That being said the E-A rules, really are pretty good, realizing that he made many concessions. ?However, the direction the Army Lists are going is not to my liking, at this time. ?But my previously made statement stands, that 40K players "like bright shiny things" and that gamers with Big 40K Armies are making up for deficiencies elsewhere !!! ? ? ? ? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I always thought it was ridiculous to pay the asking price of a 3 foot Titan! Think of all the Epic stuff THAT would buy ![]() I agree, Epic and 40k are different games for different tastes. That doesnt mean they shoudnt try to attract 40k players to EA, but it does mean that EA should be modified to suit their tastes. WRT Heroes- I too love the colour they provide, and that is why I think Yarrick and the like should be brought back. Who says a Chapter Master SM stand doesnt add colour to the battlefield?, and he is then doing what he SHOULD be doing, directing battles and intervening only at critical poitns rather than charging at the front of a platoon WRT Army lists- well we all know your views on those anyway L4 so I cant see that changing anything ![]() |
