Here is the July Forgeworld Newsletter

Welcome to another Forge World Newsletter.

We?ve got an incredibly busy month ahead of us here at Forge World. The beginning of August sees us flying out to the USA for Games Day Chicago http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/gamesdaychic.htm
http://www.games-workshop.com/news....003.htm on the 2nd August. We then fly back to Nottingham for a weekend of rest (that?s going to happen), before flying out to Canada for Games Day Toronto http://www.games-workshop.ca/news/cn/ev ... A/home.htm on the 16th August. We then fly back to Nottingham to jump into a few trucks and drive straight out to Germany to go to Games Day in Koln http://www.games-workshop.de/Sturm_d....dc.shtm on the 24th August. Please forgive us if a few people look a little tired at Games Day Germany! We then come back to Nottingham and surely get a rest???.. oh, no! We come back and start doing all the last minute preparation and packing so that everything will run smoothly at Games Day UK in Birmingham www.forgeworld.co.uk/gamesday2003.htm just over two weeks later on the 14th September.

Speaking of Games Days, we are still taking pre-orders for Chicago, Toronto and Germany. If there is something in particular that you would like to pick up and can?t bear to miss then drop us an email and we?ll have it put aside for you. If you want to put in a pre-order for Chicago then please do so soon as we?ll only be taking pre-orders until Tuesday 29th July before flying out to the US. We are also ready to start taking pre-orders for UK Games Day now, so feel free to send those in. Please title emails Games Day UK Reservation.

Which brings us to the new Imperial Armour Book ? Vol 1.
(Games Day ? Pre-order ? What?s on pre-order? ? New Book. See, it does make sense!)
The new book will be available in limited quantities at all Games Days including Chicago. If you want to make sure you get your copy then send us an email and we?ll have one put aside for you. If you can?t make it to any of the Games Day events then we are taking pre-orders for the book over our online store, http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalo....11.html
however these won?t be sent out until the beginning of September.

UK Games Day sees something new from Forge World. Firstly we are in a different position to the last few years, we are on the opposite side of the hall. Not only will we have our massive sales stand (with all our cool painted models) but also, a bigger and better design stand with all the Forge World designers. There will also be a whole bunch of new models available for the first time at Games Day UK. For the first time, Forge World will be giving away a Best Of Show Award. This is an award presented by Forge World for our favourite Forge World model entered into the Golden Demon painting competition. For more information on this please follow this link www.forgeworld.co.uk/gamesday2003.htm.

As many of you will know, Forge World has been moving offices over the last few days. Don?t worry if you?ve sent us a letter or a package, the address and contact numbers are exactly the same as before. We are still in the Games Workshop complex, we?ve just moved to a new building that has just been finished. So the Forge World office is no longer a corridor leading to a fire escape and the warehouse isn?t a small gas cupboard across the car park. Instead we have a proper office (which we have to share with our accountants L) and a huge warehouse with racking and models and all sorts of other useful things! As we know you want to see it, here?s a picture www.forgeworld.co.uk/newwarehouse.htm. We put a message on the front page of the website saying that nothing was being sent out between the 21st and 28th July. It looks like that may have been a little pessimistic however and we have been shipping orders out all day. This means that Forge World orders should now be going out as usual, 2-3 days after they are received.

Finally, because no Newsletter is complete without showing you some new models, here are some Work In Progress shots of a few new pieces. First we have a new Land Raider of a Pre-Heresy design, this is one of Will Hayes? latest models and is looking great, you can see it here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/phlandraider.htm. Also coming from the desk of Will Hayes we have the Eldar Haven class Spire for Battle Fleet Gothic. As graceful and slender looking as it is, the weapons show that it is capable of protecting itself if needs be. It can be viewed here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/spire.htm

Hope you like them and see you at a Games Day!
Thanks

Dean Winson
Forge World

Ps. We?ve lost Ewen somewhere in our big new warehouse, so I had to write this newsletter.

The Pre-Heresy L/Raider looks more like the E40K version ! Since I started with SM1, I have most of that version, both metal and plastic. And based on the fluff, IIRC, that was the pre-Heresy/Heresy version.  But this is another case of Big Brother rewriting history !!!    Orwell would be proud !!! :blues:

The Eldar spire is beautiful, and I'm liking the look of the Landraider more now than I did from seeing the GD Baltimore preview pics, it looks like a great representation of the original Epic Mk3..
