Bill Gates and GM
-------------------------------
Bill Gates is spending the day with the chairman of General Motors.
"If automotive technology had kept pace with computer technology over the past few decades," boasts Gates, "you would now be driving a V32 instead of a V8, and it would have a top speed of 10,000 miles per hour.
Or, you could have an economy car that weighs 30 pounds and gets a thousand miles to a gallon of gas. In either case, the sticker price of a new car would be less than $50."
"Sure," says the GM chairman. "But would you really want to drive a car that crashes four times a day?"
-------------------------------------
Enjoy and Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I have been using Windoze since version 2, however for the last 18 odd months I have been using (in addition to every flavour of Windows) Apple's OS X on a G4 Powerbook which is very very stable and very very easy to use and configure (he says sending this wirelessly in Starbucks).
I bought the G4 as a test machine, but now use it so much that I have just ordered two G5s as replacement desktops for my slightly aging (2 years) Athlon 1.333s.
There is something very reassuring about OS X.

Oh yeah, Macs really are very easy to use, (tho I miss having two mouse buttons sometimes!) at work we only use Macs, and OS X is a pleasure to use, as well as the simplicity, it also looks very nice indeed...

Quote (stormseer @ 26 2003 July,16:41) | Oh yeah, Macs really are very easy to use, (tho I miss having two mouse buttons sometimes!) | I use (weirdly enough) an USB Microsoft Optical Intellimouse which has two buttons, a wheel (and a few more buttons as well). It was a "free" gift when I purchased Office XP.
It really showed the difference to me between Windows XP and Mac OS X.
When it was plugged into my G4 Powerbook, the mouse just worked, real plug and play. When I plugged the same mouse into my XP laptop, it was more a case of plug and pray... it did work eventually after installing a range of drivers... of course it didn't work correctly on my old Windows Me laptop (then again what does) until I had downloaded and installled drivers from the Microsoft site.
Mac OS X is real plug and play, virtually all my PC peripherals just work when plugged into the Mac, they include ZIP drives, video cameras, card readers, a variety of PCMCIA cards and loads more.
