its on the 26th April so its not too far away.
all the major wargames makers are going to be there and GW should be there this year.

Well, assuming I can evade the doctors for the day, I'll be there!

Was meant to be there as part of a demo table but it all got screwed up whilst I was ill & thus I wasnt around to sort it out   so it looks like aother "fun" year as opposed to "work" (not that they're that far apart when it comes to things like this!).

Anyway, it sounds like its going to be a good year - they've crammed in more tables than ever & *switching to _sarcasticly_ arrogant mode* whilst one was meant to be mine, I'm sure there'll be at least something to make up for the loss  :p

I probably won't be going to Salute this year (and I havent' been for some time now).

My main reasons for avoiding Salute is that I never achieve anything when I am there... generally I find there are too many people which means:

1. I can't take any photographs (easily that is) which I could fit on my website

2. I can't buy anything I like or see, as the queues are too busy and long and the traders sell out before I get there - and when I do buy something it generally stays unpainted for a few years....

3. I can't get a game in (unless I run one myself) as there are too many other people wanting to play...

4. It costs money to get there...

sounds a bit like GamesDay

bah humbug

you never know I might go this year, for a change

Great! we should maybe arrange to meet or something.

It appears as though GW will be demonstating Necromunda:redux there which should be fun to see.

Jimbo: very nice website :;):

I will be there too, my girlfreind has even decided to join in so count me in on meeting up.

I thought that after only a few responses last time that only a few would go but it sounds like a good little group to me.

It would be good to see you again too BS, it has been a while and we didnt have much time at that  :D

I think I still have BS's number and since this will be a first for me, maybe you should just mention what stand and the time and we'll be there!  I am bringing my camera so between us I am sure we will get some decent pics for a review.

I havn't been to the Olympia building in years. Whats the temp normally like in there? Is it like Games day in the NIA where its so hot you have to walk around in t-shirts?

I guess the point of my post is 'can I get away with wearing my leather jacket in there or will i fall unconcious from the heat :oo

is there any food things there also?
Cheers

Its normally rather warm in there, but it depends how much time you spend mauling amoung the Bring & buy crowds ?

There is food available, but its on the expensive side as you would expect and also gets VERY crowded at lunchtime. I normally have just a huge breakfast before I go and then wait until the crowds dispers mid-afternoon to attempt to get any food myself - seems to work well.

Shall we say meet at the main foyer at about 2pm? That gives us time to get stuck into the trade stands before we meet up and go ambush Jervis&co en-masse

Another point worth making is that the cash machines in the centre almost always RUN OUT OF MONEY by mid way through the event and depending on whether the one by the station is working (it always seems to be broken in the past 3 years!) its a long walk to another cashpoint so if you're intending to buy from retailers who cant accept cards, its worth getting dosh early!

And I'm not too worried about remaining anon. The last three big events I attended I went wearing a T-Shirt with "Epic40K.com" on the front and "Paul "TuffSkull" T." on the back in the hope of meeting up with you guys! Whilst it is useful at Games Day (GW staff kept thinking I was part of the crew...very handy... :blues: ) I think I'll forgoe the embarasment for Salute!

BTW - you probably realise this but their website is www.salute.co.uk if you want to check out floor plans etc.

Sounds a good idea. I just need to remember it all now! If we all take cameras JJ wont know what is going on at all!  :D
