DakkaDakka has some super inspiring threads. I especially like this one by Sersi. On page 3, you can see she has the mad, mad, mad mold-making skillz. Plus, I like the boobies.

Those are great tutorials.

Ballpark estimate O-man, how much would a setup like that cost?

One. Million. Dollars.

I dunno. I think E&C recently bought a vacuum chamber and pressure pot. In the states, probably 300 bucks or so. Sometimes the thought passes my mind, but I don't have anywhere to put the stuff. Maybe when Yen makes an honest man of me, we can get a nice big American house and store it next to the elephant.

She was a 5'3" brunette ... does that count as a mini ... :vD   But alas, that was over years ago ... :sigh: :_(

I've bought a vacuum chamber, pressure pot, vacuum pump, and also obtained an air compressor for free.

Cost the best part of £800, all told... this stuff is considerably cheaper if you live in the US, but shipping and import charges interfere with that price reduction in an annoying and costly manner.

No, L-4, they have to be under 4 foot 9 inches to count as mini. 5 3 is still well within woman specifications.

And I seriously lowballed the equipment cost.

You can easily save two fifths of the cost just by being American though.  :))

Heck I bought some of the items from the US, and even with shipping charges (hundreds of dollars), import taxes, handling charges, VAT, etc. they were still cheaper than buying locally.

Ahh, yes, I've seen Sersi's stuff on Boreseer and B&C - his new Soul Grinder designs take boobie-fetish stuff to levels of disturbality.

Is that even a word?  It is now.  *scoots off to file patent*

L-4: the measurements that usually interest me most aren't the height, but those around the chest...  :;):

Sersi's a dude?

Edit - disturbality is a perfectly cromulent word.

hmmm interesting stuff, i saw this over on warseer a while back but didn't really read it properly.Think i might have to make myself a worm key blade myself and have a play about, use of such would have dramatically reduced mould lines in the 3 part mould i made for cutlery torso.

Ive still not really experiment with resin much, and my few feeble attempts have been rather bubbly. I hope you'll excuse my questions but im keen to learn from the experts here, when using resin and a vacuum:

1) Must he mould also be subjected to a vacuum during its creation?
2) Do you subject the resin to a vacuum before the pour, or once its in the mould, or both?
3) The only resin ive used starts curing VERY fast, how is there time to vacuum?
4) How much "pull" is needed, cant you just abuse a vacuum cleaner  ?

My understanding is to vacuum the silicon, in order to remove air bubbles. It's not necessary to do the mold, just the silicon prior to pour.

Resin is done in a pressure chamber. Yes, you need a good pot-time to do this. Some people stretch that out by cooling their resin, but then you have to worry about condensation.

Some of the companies I've done work for definitely vacuum the mold - I've been warned not to use hollow parts, or wood, for that reason.

As for slowing resin cure, I'm told adding filler powders helps with that a lot. I've got some, but have never actually tried it. I'll give it a shot next time I cast and see what happens...
