As a not infrequent drunken poster, I have to wonder sometimes at the comments I leave behind. Sometimes only I can tell. Sometimes it's a little obvious.

But how do YOU feel about it?

Incidentally, the odds of my post being drunkenly-generated are:
0% if between 06:00 and 17:30 central US time.
50% if on the weekend
90% any other time.

You can consider this a poll either as a rebuke to me, or to drunken posters in general.

Is it just me or does anyone else think O'man is really directing this remark at them. For the record I am normally stone cold sober. It's just I'm not as funny as you or I would like... unfortunately.  :shutup:

O'man I think you (among others) drunk or otherwise contribute some of the best belly laughter postings in the forum.  :vD

I may-or-may-not drink while online, but I don't get drunk very often (more than 6 months since last time I did).

I don't mind if the thoughts are still coherent, but the typed equivalent of a drunken slur is just a waste of bandwidth.

Another friend of mine runs a board that's a bunch of old college friends.  There's common enough drunken (or other substance abuse) posting that we solicited suggestions for coined terminology.

PUI (Posting Under the Influence) won.

There's also an unofficial rule that if you're PUI and you know you're being goofy you must post in all capital letters.  For example, an appropriate way to start a thread might be:

ALL OF YOU FELLOWS (OR DAMES) WITH ASIAN WOMEN 'FRIENDS' SOUND OFF HERE!

OTTERMAN: YEN, A DELICIOUS MIX OF CAMBODIAN, CHINESE, LAOS, FRENCH AND AFRICAN.  SHE LOOKS HAWAIIAN.

I'M NOT YELLING.  I'M JUST PUI.

I wonder about mine when I am sober. I'm too rude to be posting drunk.

Although maybe it might soften me up and bring out my sensitive side?
