After a whirlwind tour of the Pacific Rim, thanks to the company (Altho they made a good buck on me), they finally let me come home
The short of it was they promised just a couple of months, six to be exact, and phone connections where I would be working. Well I did have a phone connection, but it wasn't a land line which is the only thing my old IBM Thinkpad will work on, so they didn't lie
And I was only at the designate location for six months, as promised. However, they then needed me to move to a new location (almost immediately), and to persuade this old fart they offered six weeks paid vacation, a two bedroom condo, food and fuel money for the vacation, AND they would fly my wife out to boot to spend the time with me on the ISLAND of KAUAI
(My boss owns seven condos on the islands so he isn't going all that far out of his way)My Boss and my wife are close friends AND she manages his properties in Utah, so she already knew about the deal before I did. Anybody want to guess what would have happened to me if I said no
So for well over the past year, minus a six week 2nd honeymoon, and one week for Christmas, I have been bouncing around the Pacific rim.
NOW they promised me that I would get to stay home for a good while, this time, before pulling me back off of the mainland (Hope Hope Hope there is no more problem fires to put out) Shaka Braa Shaka
While I was gone my youngest son and my wife availed themselves of the use of my desktop puter, tho each has their own, and sucessfully burned it to a crisp, and I am unable to get anything off it anymore. So I have had to start a new account here, tho my Epic stuff is still on my laptop and CDs so nothing was lost there.
It probably doesn't matter as I am so far out of the loop now that it is mostly outdated anyways, so probably no real loss here.
I have no intention of ripping into the present Nid work till I get a chance to get up to speed, besides I really like what I see right now and will start messing with it this weekend, nice work guys
Cybershadow, Neal, Hena, etc...... Your email addresses were on my old desktop and were lost, so I cannot get a hold of anyone yet. I am going to try to start collecting them again.
Can't wait to get back in the mix again, and apologies for the long absence, life intrudes........
