Before I go and register domain names... How many people would be interested in working on a project to port the Epic:A units and armies to use the Dark Realm rules? Or any other 6mm sci-fi rule set. |

Ok, here's the thing, I've downloaded the DRM rules, and yes they look interesting and worthy of further work. My main complaint is that I actually prefer games without order counters, but I guess it is possible to live with that. But in any case, I am very much in favour of seeing Dark Realm lists for Armageddon (and EW) lines, and also Armageddon lists for Dark Realm and Exodus Wars miniature lines, and in fact any set of sci rules! No reason why it should be limited to just one set bar economy of collaboration in time and effort. However, unfortunately my time for working on any such projects in the immediate future is shot to hell, as I'm just starting one of the toughest years of study before internship (which is also a nightmare year apparently). ![]() However, at some unspecified time in the future when I do have time (or even if I manage to get some time before then), I would like to work on such a project, or join in on an existing project. As SG dies or remains mired in it's cancerous state, DRM and EW are in comparison new, exciting, and active. Question - is Dark Armageddon the best domain name? How about something that combines the names of Epic and the two successor ranges, is just as short, and kind of implies what has happened with the gaming community also...? Eg: EpicExodusRealm. An online realm /refuge for players leaving a dying star of sci-fi gaming. Any other ideas for possible catchy titles, perhaps inclusive of even larger variety of ranges like Baccus etc? |

I would primarily be interested in porting the DRM, EW and CH units across to EA stats. However, I would be happy to lend a hand in working the other way as well. Happy to help. |

No reason it can't go both ways. Anything that helps get more minis in all of the 6mm scale games is a good thing. In fact no reason it can't be a 6mm Stats project for conversion across all sorts of games |

Could we call it 'Light Armageddon'? Just kidding. EpicExodusRealm is better. |

(CyberShadow @ Feb. 14 2008,04:02) QUOTE How are we supposed to disagree with you if you keep coming out with rational stuff like that? ![]() Sorry. I'll stop :-) So the idea then is to provide a space for people to create and publish stats and army lists for the various armies in 6mm games systems. I currently have a few things set up in a 6mm Stats section of one of my sites (wiki, message board and blog) So where to start? |

(Dwarf Supreme @ Feb. 14 2008,11:38) QUOTE Or maybe EpicDarkExodus? Oedipus Rex? ? ![]() Where to start? I guess you need a core group of people who have time to commit to the project, a project leader (YOU, no getting out of it since you brought it up), and an outline of what you want to accomplish. Then it is write write write. More than likely you will get stuck with most of the work, especially on the front end, since the language, layout, style, and organization needs a tone to be set. Ex. If you were writing EA for the first time, you would get stuck writing Chapter 1 (Basic Rules) by yourself. Then share it with your group, tweak it, then move on. At that point you can delegate sections to individuals or groups: one person works on special rules, these three people work on army lists. But that is pretty much the starting point. Get typing. ![]() |

Otterman ? Posted on Feb. 14 2008,16:37 Could we call it 'Light Armageddon'? Diet Armageddon? ok, reality check now. it would be good to see units/list ported between systems. think i still have the "armies of the imperium" i converted to use the Dirtside 2 system... Rhinos had to be size 4 to carry 2 bases of PA troops ![]() |

The Guild and Pax minis would be ideal for a Great Crusade human force. |
